I really enjoy watching your videos! I'm a homeschool mom in Ontario also. I wanted to ask, how often do you do unit studies with your kids? How long does each unit last for your age kids? my daughters just coming up to kindergarten.

We do 1 unit at a time, each one ranging from 4-6 weeks. And they we do them about 2-3 times a week.

Im so grateful to have come across your channel. Prior to finding you I was definitely on the fence and now I'm about to pull the trigger on home schooling.
Im currently looking at curriculums but wanted to ask you first where do you purchase curriculum from? And when? Is there a specific time of year curriculums go on sale or is it random throughout the year? I'm based out of Ontario as well.
Thank you so much for all your work in these videos. 😊

I typically start thinking about curriculum now and give myself lots of time to make my final decisions. Then I get on email lists for companies that I love and wait for a sale. I often buy from the Learning House so I'll wait for a free shipping sale (they usually come up every few months). But if you're willing to wait a little, pretty much every curriculum company will have a sale between now and July.

Particularly with your first child when you decided to homeschool did she ever seem to be upset that she was “going” to school?
My daughter is 4 and starts this year and I’m 99% sure I’m going to be homeschooling her but she talks about going to school all the time and riding the bus to school. Now she has no idea what school really consists of or anything but it makes me question if I’m doing it for her vs myself🤔

My oldest never really wanted to go to school but my youngest did. She talked about it a lot. I asked her what she was excited about and it was the park at recess. So we just talked about going to the park more. School is portrayed every where so we just reinforced all the other things we would be doing. Science centre, co-op, gymnastics classes etc

Also based in Ontario and looking into homeschooling. I'm looking for groups to meet up with where I can ask questions possibly do feild trips together etc. Have any recommendations?

Facebook seems to be the best place. Look for local groups and groups in surrounding area. Another great option is to look for homeschool classes. If you join one, all the kids are homeschooled and all the parents are in the same boat as you. It helps make connections and friendships.
