As a fan of “Upon Friar Review”, I am looking forward to this series. Having a soon to be adult son, all the tools to help my son navigate popular culture with a religious mindset are greatly appreciated. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you for enriching us with your insights! This echoed with our classes on Pauline holiness - we just read Pope Benedict on beauty & contemplation so this youtube video was like an additional "formative reading" for us!! God bless you Sisters :) We'll be praying for you and all your viewers. Love, Postulants in St Louis
I really love the depth and humanity you’re sharing. So often evangelical Christians share their creed and not their eyes or hearts or humanity. It’s lovely to see the wisdom and kindness
This is so awesome! God has brought me to film school, a place where you don’t see a lot of openness to God’s love, but He also brought me to a Bible study group to regrow my once distant faith while I face these trials. It’s very hard to keep cool when the people around me speak about my faith in a hateful way, but (even if I don’t always feel like the best one for the job) I feel that God brought me here to show that love where they don’t know it. It’s very very emotionally difficult but I like to hope I can make a difference no matter how small!
Thanks for sharing! We'll be keeping you in prayer, and thought you might like this prayer written by our founder: Prayer for All the Media We adore you, O Lord, Creator of heaven and earth. We thank you for having placed at the disposition of humanity such a wealth of goods for the present life and eternal life. “All these are yours; but you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God” (see 1 Cor 3:23). O Jesus, Divine Master, in your mercy enlighten and direct us so that all the discoveries and means of social communication may be used for edifying and uplifting, never for spiritual or human ruin. Today we pray for all the media. We offer you, Jesus Master, our prayers and our daily apostolate to atone for the misuse of these gifts and to ask of you that everything may be for the glory of God and peace to humanity. Amen.
Too bad neither of them lived to see any of the screen adaptations of their most famous stories. Same with Charles Dickens. If I had a time machine, I would visit each of them and show them the movies. I really hope they would’ve loved them.
Great idea 😉 Hope it works out for you all!

Thanks! Can’t wait to see more - with film clips?!?
I completely agree that Tolkien was a master storyteller…one of the finest of all time. Another wonderful Christian storyteller was C S Lewis.
Totally agree!
