Bosch Oven Cleaning Pyrolytic cleaning cycle

  • This the first run through of the self cleaning (pyrolytic ) cycle of my Bosch Series 8 oven. The oven is about a month old and has been used a few times to cook roasts, etc so the insides are starting to get dirty.
    The cost of this cycle is supposed to be cheaper than buying a bottle of oven cleaner and a lot less effort!
    Not a perfect result first time, however I did put the roasting pan on the wrong rack and maybe should have ran a longer program, however, all in all I am impressed with the way it cleaned the oven, much better than my older oven that had to be cleaned manually.

    Thanks for the demo. One thing is that the manual recommends removing the side rails during the clean, and replacing them with a smaller accesory that comea with the oven.

      Hi, I can't recall seeing that in the manual? I did not receive anything to replace them with so perhaps we have different model numbers with slightly different racks?

    Thanks for your video, so informative. Can you assist please. Have a Bosch HBG634BS1B which is relatively new but there is a dribble on the inside of the oven door and my hubby and I don't know how to remove the doors from this model. I have researched it but despite entering the exact model on you tube, it continually comes up with a different model number showing an oven with different clasps and we therefore cannot remove it. Can you help please?

      Well, it’s difficult to explain it on here. I have totally dismantled the door, which is possible and easy! BUT putting it back was a bit difficult because I forgot what went where. If you are going to do it, I really recommend videoing it on your phone and the watch it back. You need to unscrew the sides near the top of the door.l to start, I think it shows you in the manual. You may find you can clean the mess after just that, but if it’s on one of other layers you will need to dismantle the whole lot, just be careful, it’s delicate stuff and planes of glass, more heavy than you think!

    So pyrolytic levels 1-3 has any difference between them part of the process duration?

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink  Год назад

      Just the duration, i tend to use the shortest time unless the oven is really in need of a clean.

    May I ask a question please. Am I correct in thinking when a recipe says 180 degrees or 160 degrees fan forced, I just use 4D heating at 160?

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink  3 года назад +1

      Hi, yes thats normally correct, however always check for doneness. If it's a cake, why not use the auto bake feature?

    hello, from Indonesia. I own almost exactly the same type as your oven (it is 3yrs old now), the problem I face now is the touch panel (right side, except info & lock) is unresponsive. tried to fix it, it seems the problem comes from the ribbon cable. though I've tried to fix it, I still could not make it back to normal. and the replacement part is extremely expensive ($300-400).

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink  3 года назад

      Wow that’s a shame, if you have seen my review of this oven you will see that my oven has slight touch response issues sometimes on the top left hand button (the one that normally says 4d hot air) I hope it does not turn into an expensive repair.
      3 years old? Isn’t it still covered by Bosch’s guarantee?

    Hello. I have a question about the first start of the furnace. I tried to heat the stove but the heaters would not work. Is it necessary to do the 4d program first or is it some other mistake. Thanks

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink  4 года назад

      Hello, I have only ever run the program from a cold oven without anything else being done apart from selecting the cleaning cycle. If your oven is not heating up then you may have a problem with your oven?

    It wasn't 1 hr 13 minutes into the programme at all when the door actually locked... it was 2 minutes into the programme. I mention it as I was listening to the vid whilst checking out the spec's in another page/tab. It made me think it took an hour + for the door to lock?

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink  4 года назад

      garryleerob yrscyour correct, sorry recorded it live and spoke quickly without thinking. It locks very quick at the start, just don’t open the door before as it cancels the programme! As I found out.

    How do you you clean in between the glass on the oven door

    • @everythingandthekitchensink
      @everythingandthekitchensink  3 года назад

      I’ve only done it once, but you basically unscrew the sides and can remove the panels to clean, it’s all in the instructions

    I ended up buying this oven and decided to go with this one so that the rails don't need to be removed. I wanted to clean it and the manual states the rails need to be removed.
    If it's a mistake in the video would you mind notifying your viewers so that others don't make the same mistake. There's very little info on how exactly to run the pyrolytic function other than this video.

      Hi, the metal shelves must be removed before cleaning but you can leave the metal side panels in, otherwise how are you expected to be able to also clean the metal tray that comes with it. My instructions state the sides can be left in along with the metal accessories.

    • @MrJoefizzy
      @MrJoefizzy 3 года назад +1

      @@everythingandthekitchensink that's true. The manual say to remove the rack. It doesn't specify what the rack consists of. But the manual also says you can clean the enamel base. You wouldn't be able to do that without leaving the side rails (and telescopic rails) in the oven. I've left mine in as they are also quite dirty, although I read someone's comment here that the dishwasher also does a good job on it, if you're worried at all. Good video though.

      @@MrJoefizzy hi did the side rails survive the cleaning cycle ok ? My manual also says to remove them.. I'm not sure what's the right thing to do ?

    • @MrJoefizzy
      @MrJoefizzy 3 года назад +1

      @@mariawaterhouse8871 hi yes they did. They can be removed, but it is a bit of a fiddle to remove them, there is a certain way they slide out. I think the idea is that if you leave them in they can become stuck and hard to remove. I left it in and it was fine, but I'm sure you could remove them and put them in the dishwasher as well.

      Only changes the colour of the metal shelfs, the metal side panels are designed to be kept in all the time during cleaning
