My wife and I are heading to Mexico to give birth shortly. We would be availing ourselves of this great option even if the USA were not badly declining in its finances, public safety, morality, and family structures (which it is).
One thing you fail to mention on this video is that if you become a naturalized Mexican citizen and you stay live abroad for longer than 5 years you lose your Mexican citizenship. This doesn’t apply to citizens by birth.

By giving birth in Mexico, we need to pay the whole cost upfront, then seek reimbursement of 70% from our insurance company. We’re also paying months of apartment rental, so it’s absolutely NOT cheaper to give birth in Mexico. The point for us is the immigration benefit, not the fantasy of lower cost.

What was the result? Did you go to Mexico for birth?
It's definitely something worth considering but the biggest downside is leaving family support system when having the birth of a child.
