Jonas is a feral player. In this clip he's showing some sensitivity at the start of the piece. But he's inclined to grab and dominate the instrument, exerting whatever physical force is necessary to glean what he wants to hear from it.

What's your problem?? He probably had a predominantly French audience. He has manners and courtesy and other traits that you are obviously sadly lacking. For you to get so outraged by an Englishman speaking French to a French audience proves precisely why right-wingers are the real 'snowflakes'. Always angry and outraged over nothing.
Too bad the photography is so bad, didn't get to see JM's fingers on the fret board until nearly 3 minutes in and that was after the theme had already been set... like watching a dancers' face instead of their feet. I like to see the players' hands not their expression (maybe one shot). And so dark (it's probably just been copied too many times). Oh, well, still like the playing and the music.
Sorry, I don't get Jonas. So much of what he does is sloppy and/or silly. And slapping in Porkpie Hat? That's something I'd expect of a kid at Guitar Center. And he's rushing the hell out of it. I had to turn it off at that point.
I've heard other versions of these two doing this piece. Jonas was unfocused in his solo on this one. I think if placed properly and with the right intentions you can slap anywhere.

Totally agree. Every clip I’ve heard of him playing sounds exactly the same. Just a bunch of speed slap.
