I saw these 3 in 1982 at Cleveland’s Front Row Theater-which featured a stage that slowly rotated 360 degrees-so everyone had a chance to have the guitarists facing them directly. Saw Miles Davis there in the same year. What fantastic performances and priceless memories. Oh to be 19 again. ❤️👍🏼

Think I've listened to this version so much that I literally learnt to sing in my mind each improvised solo...so sad to hear that Chick just passed away...but his legacy still going on. I learnt so much through his music, thanks to my grandad that left me his vinyls of Al Di Meola and Return To Forever when he passed away... music is always a connection, and its power is infinite and timeless
If I had not heard since 7 years ago maybe I would have lost the chance to find my vocation as a musician, thanks to spain to share the flamenco with the rest of the world. Now, i wish that others can hear this magic.

How Paco can get a sound that percussive without a pick seems magical to me. The contrast in tones between di Meola,and Paco is enormous, with McLaughlin sitting smack in the middle. It’s such a beautiful, and balanced ensemble of tone.

I get that they play this song great. They were among the greatest guitar players in the world. What blows my mind is the fact that they did an entire concert, each song is as complicated and mentally taxing as this one. Zowie.
