I have an X1. It’s a great car. Super fuel efficient. Small enough for a city, easy to park, tons of space. It’s kinda sporty too. It doesn’t have a lot of character, but I’d certainly recommend one to someone.
@@shaqquackk i pay a little less than $400 a month but I my interest rate was like .5%. I financed $20k of it. I wouldn’t buy a BMW just to own one. This just happened to be the car that had everything I wanted for the right price. I did have a loaner 3 series for a little and that was so much nicer and much better to drive.
@Fipe yes I totally agree. Before the X1 I had a 2014 335xi w dinan s1. Was a great sedan. But when I went the X1 it didn't feel like the BMW I remembered. The x3m40i is a 🚀

Two things to know about the X1 - 1. it is now a proper bmw (the old one was based on a mini) 2. It is based on the 2 series active touring which looks worse but is cheaper, more efficient and at least as practical…
look into their other suvs, all bmw suvs are honestly class leading (especially the x5 and x7) and shockingly good value along with their sports cars and sedans
@@smar1208Me too but for me they’re just a bit too pricey and depreciate a bit too quick in value. They’re also not the most reliable, my uncle’s X5 breaks something new every day he drives it but hey, you get what you buy which is the luxury experience.

@@The_Lightless when did i ever say a turbocharged v12 is reliable? i put 80k km on my x5 and the guy i sold it to put another 55k on it, last time i saw the car it was at 135k km with no issues. my g05 is nearly at 75k, i bought it when it had 20k on it and will be selling it soon. got my g30 when it had 10k km and sold it at 60k which is admittedly very low milage.
To be completely honest, most people won’t care so it would be a waste for me to mention it specifically. It looks & feels like leather so it’s easier to just say leather. However, if you’re big on not using leather then, for your piece of mind, no, it’s not real leather.

I used to own a 2011 x1, it was a fantastic machine. Even being an SUV, it used have a 'pure driving pleasure!' It's just that it is very expensive to maintain here in India, so I sold it.

It's pretty obvious that when you buy a BMW you're going to spend another 5k in maintenance over the years. Or you can put that 5k in paying the Lexus premium for a more boring car. Example: IS300 for 40k (likely higher because low supply) or BMW 230i for 38k. One is a boring car, one is a driver's car. Maybe buy some public transportation passes if driving isn't your thing.
Give it a tune and some bolt ons and it would be a great suv because the only thing it lacks is power in my opinion, even tho not everyone needs to be super fast😊
For this price here in Germany you can get a 2017 5 series 550i with the 4.4L V8 from the M5 that you can tune for more than 600hp for a few thousand bucks. Also with less than 50000 miles on it...

I have an X-3 with a six cylinder engine. Good little car but I really did like my X-5 more. I had to downsize because of a physical problem. We’ve kept the X-5 though as an extra car.

The only downfall on the previous models is that were made in front wheel and AWD as options. If they made in a rear wheel drive option it would be perfect.

In the US the Tax isnt included in the car sales price. So depending on the state, this car as tested would easily be 60k after taxes
