- Demo of the RM Italy KL300P 300 watt CB linear amplifier.
It's really close.
* On the low side looks like 60 watts forwarding to 250 - 275 on an MFJ watt meter set to average not peak. Peak goes off the 200-watt scale.
* On the High side still only goes to the 250 - 275 mark.
It's being driven by a Cobra 29 LTD which dead keys 3 1/2 watts and swings to 11.
The power supply is a 25 amp pyramid that actually went backward on a high side setting. May draw more than the cheap pyramid could produce. :))
It was all being directed to an Amitron 2500 watt dry dummy load.
Is that a old turner power mic?
Does the preamp also works?
with a slightly lower deadkey and a little more Modulation you will get 300 PEP, maybe more of you have 14.4 volts, double check you voltage on the supply, don't count on that needle. I have owned many RM amps, never had a problem with em. I own one still.. this is my friend using it, this one is a 120 volt tuber. ruclips.net/video/uffxHi0V_38/видео.html
Do it on ssb
increase the input powwr and watch the output increase to the max and then stop imediatly when the out doesnt increas further. these rm italy amps and alike handle about 8Watt hf in well, more is very critical.
NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!! 100 watt trannie..x2 =200 watt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what will it do on FM 11 meaters did u say 150W
MEATERS? Is that a Sandwich or something? 🤣😂🤪
I never got mine to do that much
Voltage Voltage Voltage.... just a volt or 2 will make a big difference
Can I use this amp with my stock 29 ltd? I mean just hook it up and fire away. Sure do appreciate some help from you guys who knows best. Thanks a lot in advance.
You might have to drop your dead key level.
No the stock 4 watt dead key will over drive the amp. The amp wants 2 to 2.5 watt dead key with more modulation (Swing to say 30 watts PEP)
How is the tuned input?
Could you put this amplifier on a Stryker cb?
No a stryker is to much radio for this little amp.
@@chevyguy1128 You can most definitely put a Stryker on it. Just have a low dead key. A watt or whatever the amp call for.
@@hazmathauler4536 go ahead and watch it go up in smoke because a stryker setup properly will still have to much swing even from a low dk you have no idea what your talking about do your homework.
@@chevyguy1128 Oh bullshit lol. A good tech can set it up lol. Hell, Rooster in Tennessee who has a channel on here has did it lol. And as far as homework…my friend, I have been collecting Cb’s and it’s been a hobby for 30 years. I KNOW what I’m talking about. So R-E-L-A-X.
@@hazmathauler4536 I been CB's over 30 years
Should only use 2, watts in
2 watt deadkey or 2 watts pep?
@@oldolfmann8927 deadkey, approximately
@@waltsmith6515 10-4
Overdrive in that little lamp that little lamp should only take you about 25 W
25Watt in will destroy that amp.
Look at the signal on a scope and see how much of the Dirty signal is actually on the channel you are on and how much is somewhere else including other bands.👎🏻💩🚽
@@oldolfmann8927 Because I would never own a Dirty amplifier.I run an ICOM PW-1 and it’s a Proven Clean amplifier on HF/6 meters.
