Ya need to learn traditional combos and defense first. Then work more advanced stuff. The step he uses with his back foot was used by Jack Dempsey. Dempsey has a book that details a lot of his tactics and techniques. There's so much information out there for free it's crazy. I would have loved this growing up in the 80s and 90s. If you wanted an instructional video, ya had to shell out $60+ for each VHS tape or DVD depending on the decade.
Just because he’s a good kickboxer doesn’t mean he’ll be successful in the UFC. He wouldn’t come close to winning a title due to his lack of wrestling and grappling.
My mind is blown ! This simple rear step is so amazing . Such a simple detail I Never noticed ! Thank you for sharing as I am self taught / training boxing for fun and this was a game changer !
I like it too but realized it only works if you have a wide based stance. It doesnt work with a MT stance for instance because you'd basically have to bring your feet together.
This is crazy, Poatan made this video in January, and Izzy posted the exact same technique (the only difference is that Izzy adds a feint to it) last week on his RUclips page.
how dare you ? this is character defamation why would you exaggerate the details of a “feinting tactics” video from izzy ? if you hate izzy so much just be upfront about it instead of hiding behind false claims and narratives like a coward 🙃
@@liquorboots Lol I've been following Izzy since his days in Glory. If you haven't seen the video that is your problem. Even Riddell has posted the same technique and mentioned that Izzy does it quite a lot.

Thank you for this video. Been a fan of Alex recently and his left hook amazed me for such a long period of time and i tried soo many times doing it. This might be the best tutorial ever, from the man himself! Thank you!
Some very good advice actually. I didnt notice this is what makes me jab land better. I do this but without realizing I am doing it and I thought it was that I turn my head a certain way but its actually my foot making it land... now I dont have to turn my head everytime... thank you lol
awesome tip about bringing in rear foot forward, while disguising the forward movement with head movement, and then hitting your combo - gonna also see if Ilia Topuria probably does this as well
when he threw that left straight 0:58 that guys shakes and felt it even though that's not a full power. And look how he twist his legs and hips to deliver every punch.
Beautiful strike and combo. Im still a student with muay thai and learning, that jab combo looked very sweet. Well demonstrated, and something to add for myself.
Great set up! And u could easily start playing with it, because the movement/back foot placement to a teep/front kick is the same. Fake the jab to a front teep or vice versa and follow up.

He has a very unique stance. Weight on the lead foot just like a boxer! Not common in kickboxing much less mma
