There's something about this edit that I'm struggling to define, but I'm going to try. I've only seen some of the animations represented here, not all, and some I don't recognise at all. But seeing them celebrated here together feels like I'm briefly touching someone else, that I'm relating to the people who have seen those animations and have been deeply touched by them as much as I was by the animations I've seen. In one moment, I was relating with people I've never met, who share different interests than me, in this edit. It's a celebration of art, and art is universally human, no matter the output of it, and I think that's a very nice reminder that we're all part of a wider community of people who might share different tastes, but that our love of art remains the same. Hopefully this makes sense to someone.
Thanks for including Loving Vincent. The first and only movie animated entirely with PAINTINGS! Emulating Van Gogh’s style is already hard, but doing it over and over again to tell a beautifully tragic tale is just, wow.
A quote from Brad Bird, director, screenwriter, animator, producer (The Iron Giant, The Incredibles)… “People think of animation only doing things where people are dancing around and doing a lot of histrionics, but animation is not a genre. And people keep saying, ‘The animation genre.’ It’s not a genre! A Western is a genre! Animation is an art form, and it can do any genre. You know, it can do a detective film, a cowboy film, a horror film, an R-rated film or a kids’ fairy tale. But it doesn’t do one thing. And, next time I hear, ‘What’s it like working in the animation genre?’ I’m going to punch that person!” Animation is so far beyond making children’s slop content on RUclips. It’s a shame how many people I’ve spoken to who refuse to watch anything animated because “That’s for kids. Animation is a kids genre.” No it’s not. Animation is one of the greatest storytelling tools of the modern age that has helped give us some of the hardest hitting and most impactful pieces of media to ever exist. In fact, many of my favorite movies of all time are animated. Right up there with “John Carpenter’s The Thing”, I hold Rango, The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, and Mulan as some of the greats. All movies that, while animated, have told some of the saddest, darkest, and deep meat stories I’ve seen in “kids” movies. Sure, they have their comedic moments, but they never overstay their welcome and the writing never feels like it’s lowering itself to infant levels of storytelling. The idea of a superhero being forced into retirement finally getting a chance to relive his glory days in secret while his wife believes he’s having an affair is something very serious and it’s handled very well. Not to mention how much harder certain story beats can hit when you have the advantage of animated models being able to exaggerate their emotions more than a real actor. Paired with the amazing voice acting from Holly Hunter and Sarah Vowel, the plane scene in The Incredibles always gets my blood pumping and my chest tightening because of how absolutely desperate the situation is as missiles close in on them. Like… UGH! 😫, FUCKING AMAZING! Or in the case of Rango, well I feel you all know what I’m gonna say 😏 “Only takes one bullet.” “You ain’t got the nerve.” “… Try me.” That scene had my whole body going cold. In closing… I FUCKING LOVE ANIMATION!!! 🙌🗣️‼️🔥

The one before star wars visions was end of evangelion
Phenomenal comment btw
The one after The Peanut Show is Loving Vincent, the first fully painted featured movie in history. Its weird it got so little recognition compared to how innovative it is.
I see the love death and robots and I instantly gain respect
YOOO that jimmy timmy shot to danny phantom was clean!
Bruh, that's literally all of the moments animation went ridiculously hard, it's perfect.
I fucking LOVE animation!
Wow. This is one of the rare RUclips videos that made me cry. Bravo
Seeing all of these animations that I could recognize and finding some I couldn’t genuinely made me feel something inspiring
Wow... what a love letter
and including all the clips' sources is next level
honestly, we take animation for granted
totally was NOT expecting end of evangelion! crazy good edit
this is one of the best edits i've ever seen
truly amazing
It’s Such a Beautiful Day is something that everyone should experience and seeing it here alongside everything else made me super happy, this is such a well done edit. Keep up the good work dude!
animation is the most amazing art form that has ever been created, the fact that you added so much stuff is great
Also, thank you for adding Mielgo's storyboards, I rewatch those constantly to learn new things.
omg you even included Tintin! That was a delightful suprise.
THIS EDIT HAS NO RIGHT TO BE THIS GOOD. 🐐🐐
fr tho awesome work, one of the best (if not the best) edits ive ever seen
Seeing Kevin's Batman brought a tear to my eye. I miss him
This was amazing! A true tribute to the golden age of animation. Simple but perfect.
THIS IS ANIMATION.
The Hungry Caterpillar should’ve made it on here.
