Yes it happens sometimes. I was flying from Beijing to Edmonton. My baggage was checked out when I got to Vancouver. I had to check in again before boarding to Edmonton. Luckily I had enough time. And i used Air Canada. The tickets i purchase always clearly states it. and this happened before the pandemic. And i agree with enough layover time. YOU NEED ENOUGH TIME, or you will be running in the aiport like some mad person and sorry if you cant run or get a carriage!!!
Enough layover time is Essential. The running I did at the airport was more than a workout. Now I know better. Thanks for watching ❤️

Girll I was so surprised. Maybe Covid changed some things cos if I had known I would have to check my bags out I would have definitely booked a longer layover

What do you have in your bags ? And many more
Luggage must be picked up at your 1st point of entry to the US, so you can clear Customs. In your case, that was JFK.
Makes a lot of sense. Just in case customs doesn’t allow you in too then you grab your bag and go back to your country😃

Wow. Can you show what to pack?
Depending on how long you will be staying and also the season in which you go.
If you go during the winter definitely pack Jackets and sweaters plus boots or sneakers.
If it’s during the summer it depends on the state you’re going. Some states are warmer than others so you could pack light so mostly Jeans,tops and dresses. Definitely pack sneakers 👟 they are more east to wear and walk around

Yes the airline will announce on board that you have to go to Carosol 1 to pick up your luggage

2. You can choose your preference of food since they have options
3. Ghana to America is about 12hrs or 14hrs that’s if you don’t transit anywhere.
How much is the overall price from visa to tickets and everything?
It differs
Depends on the visa you’re applying for and the flight you want to board and the class you want to sit in ie First class,business,economy etc . I can’t tell you the total since I don’t know your preference

Oh NO you won’t be deported 😃. I missed my connecting flight ✈️ to another state so you just need to go to the help desk and make a complaint so they put you on another flight to the state you’re going.
For example if you’re going from New York to Atlanta and you miss that flight you will be out on the next available flight to ATL. Hope you understand
