They didn't use "native American", that should be rather obvious from the context of what I said. But a slur about interbreeding between white people and natives
There’s a vinegar syndrome store in Toronto just like Chris mentioned and it also sells vhs. Guillermo del Toro loves the store when he comes to Toronto.
Everyone on brand. Chris - sleaze and pulp, Craig - 80s Cult, Jamie - mainstream names from catching up on film school, Dan - 70s underground, Davey - Euro chillers and character actors, Pete - Bit of everything but mostly 70s/80s US.
When I was 19 and living in London, I bought a DVD of The Seventh Seal from a secondhand bookstore. The clerk put two discs in the case, calling it a “great film.” After watching the first disc, which ended with a dance scene (no spoilers!), I eagerly inserted the second. To my confusion, it started the same way as disc one. Realizing both discs were the same, I returned to the store. “Your colleague gave me two copies of part one,” I said. “I need part two.” The clerk, peering over his glasses, replied sarcastically, “Part two? To my recollection there is no Part one and Part two to The Seventh Seal. Maybe the film wasn't long enough for you? Would you like to swap it for Fanny and Alexander? That’s about five and a half hours long.” He handed me back the case, removing the extra disc, and clarified: “It’s just The Seventh Seal, not part one.” And that was it. I’d seen the whole film-but to this day, I still feel like I only watched half.
You guys are a helluva fun team - very well-informed/educated, entertaining and easy to listen to and so passionate about the genre! Keep up the great work. Webb in ATL and horror enthusiast
Phew! All change for me so I’m late seeing this and commenting. Great to see the full crew back doing a long one, you know I love these the best. Thank you all for your time and bringing the good stuff to ‘The Monster’s Den’.
Cheers folks, let us know any of the labels you look out for! See you in 2 weeks for 3 Fave Pickups/Watches of the year, our last show of 2024!
Is “Native American” a racial slur in Scotland?

Surprised no one mentioned the recent Synapse Trick or Treat sell out > eBay re-sell debacle. That was fun to witness.
Kino, Criterion, VS, Warner Archive and Arrow. All fantastic labels.
Second Sight Films, Eureka Entertainment, Via Vision, god there’s so many!
