I just added 8 tsp vinegar to my vertical romaine towers 4 gallons of water. It lowered my pH just like you said it would. This is excellent content. Thank you for sharing.
Such a simple, clear presentation! BTW, If you go to the bakery department at the supermarket, they usually have some food grade buckets they’ll let you have for free.
You are very encouraging. I will immediately try to follow your instructions that were so clearly made. May God bless you to achieve your dream through this project. Hope to learn more from you. Thank you for sharing your time, your project, your experience and your intellect.
Great Video, will follow your plan. However, I read concerns with Mosquito Breeding inside buckets, how to stop this, otherwise this method is easiest.
Thanks for this excellent video. Can you refill the bucket with the nutrient-rich water as and when the water level drops, or is this just a one-time thing?
This video is so simple and easy to follow. Thank you for making this, this would be my first grow hydroponic and I'm feeling confident! Just subscribed
I would use a under bed storage box. They are about 6 inches deep. Perfect for salad. And it takes up less space but you would have to monitor the water level or create a basin with a 20 or 30 gallon Rubber made container and run a pump. yes it would use electricity but would be well worth it. But great video. Thank you.
if the water in the bucket goes above 68 degrees you will get root rot, also no oxygen in the bucket doesn't sound like a great idea. I would grow it indoors for hot weather areas and add an airstone to oxygen the roots
If you don’t remove the plant entirely from the net pots and just cut at the base, could you then in theory leave the remaining bit the bucket and regrow new lettuce from those existing roots? Similar to the whole “veggies from the the supermarket left in a glass thing” like lettuce and green onions etc you see trending?
When you put the seeds into a container to germinate, Water should have PH 6 or up? or regular water? and where should I put the container? outside under sun light? or inside a room with some lights?
Great video Hannah! Can you tell me why using that specific amount of water when the roots at full maturity does not come close to using it all up? Can I use less in a more shallow container? Appreciate your feedback :).
Cause it's a set and forget method your way would require you to change the size of the container as it gets bigger you also would have mix a fresh batch of nutrients it's more work basically
Hi Hannah... great, Thank you for the information and demonstration. Can you tell me if i harvest the lettuce (maybe not a whole head at a time though) will it regrow from that plant once or twice more like I've seen on other videos? Or do I just start over? And also, since the is a hydroponic method, can I grow them indoors provided I give them enough sunlight? I live in AZ and the sun is just too hot, plus I want to grow them outside of the normal growing season. Thank you!
If you're harvesting a few leaves at a time you can leave it and it will regrow. For heads it's better to start over because roots will die off because there's not enough leaf mass to support. The dying roots can then start to rot and cause problems that way.
Plants that fruit above ground (tomatoes: dwarf cherry best unless you can rig support), peppers. But no potatoes, carrots, etc. below ground growing... Also, just get them all for free: You can regrow just about any store bought vegetable in the Fresh Produce section: Green onions (keep bottom 2", place in water a couple days to root, then transplant to soil) Yellow onions (cut the root part with about 1/2" or so of "root" and set either directly in wet soil, or in water for a couple days, then soil) Carrots (keep about 1/2" with the top, and plant with top barely showing in soil) Lettuce (trim for use and leave 1" near the stalk, set in water a couple days for rooting, then transplant to soil or grow hydroponically) etc. etc. Rockwool squares (Amazon) will let you start about any seed (tomato, pepper) directly from the fruit/vegetable, and for many plants and store herbs you can buy as fresh as possible, select the greenest stalks, trim at 45 degrees, and they will root in water in a Rockwool. Same thing when you grow your mature plant: cut a stalk or two to regrow it. Pretty much if people were smart, in one trip to the store for just the healthy food that you eat, you could start your own garden, skipping the seeds aisle altogether...

You are so cute
@@InspireByte2002 you are too and I'm guy
I agree except I was left wondering 2 things. Shouldn't the Keychain be rinsed before eating it? And will that same lettuce cup grow more lettuce?
That was such a good video! Well done.
Hydroponic is really necessary for every family. Thank you for sharing your ideas about hydroponics.

Great content. Should I have to change the water once a while ?!
Wow that was so helpful thank you I will definitely be growing some lettuce is full. Hope you grow something else this summer
Hi, i went through video. really you presented very fantastic manner, without any doubt about hydroponic culture, thank you keep it up
You did an excellent job from start to finish! I’m more confident in starting this thanks to your wonderful explanation 🙏
Best hydroponics tutorial in history!
need use the green Plastic for growing in food . like PET . PP . ... plastic . very good video.

do you throw away the roots? or just leave it there and it wil grow more lettuce
Best video about hydroponic on RUclips ever
My sister grate job, Thanks
do not forget food grade bucket ...great vid tks!
Thanks good work well done
Great presentation. So the nutrient solution does not need air pump for continuoys stirring and oxygenation?
How often do you change the water?
And do you have to check the ph over the coming weeks of growth?
Do you need to flush the lettuce before harvest? Does it taste different with nutes in it?
Great work thanks for the video
Great video!
nice video thanks
could you tell me how to get the nutrients for the solution ?

Hello fellow Floridian! Does it matter whether you from them inside or outside? I’m just worried about critters eating them.
Hi Greatmorning
What kind of solution it is
Using a vinegar
Hi , thanks for easy & useful info,
I have now one pumpkin in simple hydroponic way . Should I give it npk every week or two or per month ?
Use hydrated lime to bump up your pH and phosphoric acid to lower it. Don’t use vinegar.
why?
Hi mam! Is the Nutrients are available here in the Philippines? Thanks!
When you put the seeds into a container to germinate, Water should have PH 6 or up? or regular water? and where should I put the container? outside under sun light? or inside a room with some lights?
Thanks.. It's so simple and educative..
Excelent step by step, easy to follow, thank a lot
Very useful video, thanks for sharing!
Is these hydroponic rock wool? The color really defferent.
Fascinating.

Could you grow pumpkins or cantaloupes like this?

Good one Hanna!
Thank you so much for uploading a great video.
Very easy explanation anyone can understand 😊👍
From SriLanka.
Very interesting and simple. How can I produce own nutrient in Africa? Can this method be applied on African vegetables such as green?
research compost nutrient solution, will have to watch the Ph.
Hi Hannah. My english is not that good. Can you please write me the name of that brown thing you're using to put the seeds.

i wonder what is that layer on top? chemical binding or bacterial compound?
So relaxing! I had fun watching this video. Now I’m motivated to try and start a garden myself.

@@FOATE so that big bucket she used might not be ideal if you harvest the whole plant then?
something smaller would probably work too
Nice video!!!soo simple. Love it.
What is needed if you want to grow lettuce indoors? Great video.
Light
Good Video, Very Informative. Thanks
What stop mosquitoes from coming to the water do you need a bubbler
It's a closed environment: no access to the water for them to lay eggs, and most grow them inside anyway.
How often do you change the water?
Hi! What are the contents on those nutrient solution?
Hi. Can we use this formula for circulating system?
Actually you made it all simple, thanks
wow i should try this at home.. new subscriber here.
I would add an airstone although you have proven it's not necesery and I look forward to making a few of these buckets
This method looks quite simple when comparing with others
As a kid I remember collecting small pieces of plastic from our vegetable garden, they were considered dangerous pollutants back then.
What are the other vegetables good for this method
Plants that fruit above ground (tomatoes: dwarf cherry best unless you can rig support), peppers. But no potatoes, carrots, etc. below ground growing...
