    One of my all time if not alltime favorite tool for reclaim work. Best money I have every spent. A good idea to have a bucket or trash can to fire into though because the nails will fly around sometimes.

      I like the bucket underneath tip. I have had the tool for about 2 months and man I only used it about 3 times, but it is handy to have. It is also pretty rewarding to use.

    I put a half bucket of sand underneath as they can fly all over the place, and straighten the nails with an old steel pin from a machine that has a 1/8" hole on one end, if really bent or rusted then slice the worst off with a grinder.
    When you are done, chuck a big magnet in the sand and shake the bucket

    I didn’t hear about it here first so will have to forget that lol but I can offer a tip to not forget. Use the barrel to straighten the nail before removing it and you will have better results.

    • @doublewide6
      @doublewide6  6 лет назад

      Yes that is a good tip. I cheated and straightened the nails with a hammer before I started.

      Hey Bruce, I haven't been spending too much time on youtube so far this summer. I guess they got rid of the PM feature in RUclips? I was just thinking of you, as I have been trying to get organized in the shop. Anyhow, things are going well, I just cut back on my video productions as summer is kicking into gear. I see you are keeping busy with the projects, I've been following along. Take Care, Bob

      It makes quick work of the nails. In pine, it blasts the nails all the way through.
