When there was nothing else for a kid in Texas, who just got into the Sex Pistols in 1987, to find. There was Sid and Nancy on VHS. I ended up saying, "that movie sucks, John Lydon was nothing like that!!!". I now remind myself that the movie is called, Sid and Nancy and the other characters are really just background noise. It's a great film. My mom actually bought me a vhs copy at Walmart in the summer of 87 or 88. And we all thought it was a good movie. There is plenty more these days to see to learn of John and Paul and Steve. I have long forgiven the film and appreciate it for being one of my first lessons on the Pistols history. I often defend it when I see a post about it and people giving the same old safe 1 sentence review. It's a shame some people have to be reminded that an individuals opinion should not be feared of outlawed. I wish I still had my Criterion dvd from the late 90s. The commentary was great as was the phone call between Sid and Reberta Baily. I've chatted with 3 people who knew Sid including Noel Monk, and Soo, and Neon. They all spoke fondly of him especially Noel. Shit, the kid was bearly old enough to drink and he is still ranked about as ever. That sound mix at the beginning it really great
