I like that you have your side mirrors adjusted properly.
Just bought/installed a Micro amp behind the head unit. It brought out the life in this system. Highly recommend, not sure why they wouldn't power it sufficiently from factory.
Yeahhh babyyy, a GR Corolla sound vid!
I love my GRC but my previous two cars (08', 15' RAV4 both w/JBL) had aftermarket subwoofers, but I thought they were weak stock, this car felt like it had no lows even compared to my old cars stock. Both old cars had stock and aftermarket subs, so I just added subs to my GRC and oh my it makes a world of difference. I have a remote wired to the front to control the sub amp and being able to bump but also have a clean crisp but well balanced lows when I want has changed it to the best sounding cars of the three. Love it! (Might upgrade the front tweeters, since that made a huge difference in my 15' rav4, but the stocks in the GRC sound noticeably better than the stocks in the '15 RAV4)
The addition of midrange speakers to this car is a huge difference to the stock non-JBL system which only has (awful) tweeters and midbase speakers in the doors, like my GR Yaris Circuit pack had stock (no JBL availible in the Circuit here in the EU). Changed speakers and soundproofed doors (Focal's dedicated Toyota replacement speakers), big upgrade over stock, still sounds like 800hz to 2000hz is almost missing from the midrange. Such is the price for no 3-way setup in cars :( This sounds less thumpy than even the focals on a no-amp-base system but way better in midrange, voices, string instruments etc. Argh, every car should have a dedicated midrange speaker!!! I miss my Mustangs 3-way Hertz Mille Legend high-end audio build even more now :/
Great review as always though! Love this channel for actually caring for, and testing, various sound systems. It's such a huge oversight in 99.9% of car reviews (Savagegeese thankfully at least mention the audio systems in their reviews) and it's so important to alot of people. Even those who don't admit it it or normally say they care for it DO enjoy a good system when they're driven in a car with a proper aftermarket build or a high end factory system once music is played. Keep it up!
Watching this video in my grc with the jbl speakers too 😅
I agree with the rating. it's nothing that will blow you away and I feel like it really lacks some thump. A solid setup nontheless.
Lol when you reached toward the volume I was seriously thinking you were going for 10!
I'd add my Targa subwoofer to this and call it a day
@dmsound love the vids. Been shopping around for a car and audio is super important so thank you for the content. If you had this set up, what could you do to mitigate that unbalance between the bass and everything else? Would an aftermarket sub be enough of an upgrade? Also, would you even recommend the jbl audio 'technology package' with this car or would a full audio upgrade aftermarket be more worth it? Thanks again.
Man great question, I really was hoping you’d get a reply here. 😊
@@susanyeadon6657 yaa me too 😕
I love my gr corolla but i think I wanna add a sub in the foam under the trunk
Exactly what I was thinking
yep as soon as I get one I'm just gonna cut the foam away and slap a low profile sub in there
Maybe it's just my computer speakers but how are you getting so much bass punch out of yours? I have the bass maxed and have bass turned up on my Spotify equalizer and I STILL can barely hear the drums, almost no thump, sounds like the bass is off. I don't get it lol.
Charlie, I get the ABC tiers, but what does S tier stand for?
Special or Super tier
Like NUK3 said, it's the top tier. Above A.
Think about S as Surperior, or like getting extra points on an exam for answering a bonus question correctly
It's weird how the rear speakers basically do nothing. They sound like AM radio.
I'm gonna change all that shit out
I have one and i think it's shit. Mind you i dont even listen to loud music, i just listen to asian pop anime music. Now i need to look into aftermarket options
I have the basic speakers and I’ve been looking everywhere to upgrade them
