When the Soviet Union launched Sputnik, all they could manage to put in it was a transmitter just to prove they put a satellite in space. In just only 4 months later, the USA did the same, AND were able to put various scientific equipment in it. As for first man in space, the US were able to do the same in less than a month. As for moon landings, the USA did it not once, but six times.
Yeah, the USA won the Space Race.

The great irony is that the innovations of Soviet rocket scientists can easily match Americans shoulder to shoulder, and Soviet engines architecture and iteration processes were second to none. To this day, US Antares rockets were still flying with Soviet engines, and before SpaceX Soviet rockets still brought astronauts to the ISS, which are testaments to the ingenuity of Soviet engineers. But at last, they were ultimately dragged down by the mess that was Soviet bureaucracy and corruption.

Tno is a mod for the game hearts of iron 4,it aims to portray a world where the Nazis win ww2 and as such the Ussr is fractured. One of the warlords of Russia is Zhdanov, who, when succeeds in reuniting Russia, this song plays.

    Soviet Union
    First to reach space
First to send a man into space
First to send a woman into space
    First to do a spacewalk
First to make a functional space station
First to send a probe to Venus and send back footage of the service
    United States
First to land on the moon
First to make a reusable spaceplane
No denying the Americans accomplished great things in space and won the race to the moon . But the Soviet Union were the winners when it comes to what more was accomplished

Oh my god, what a diamond song and video! Indeed modern Russia is trying to erase from memory all the achievements of the socialist past, joining the rest of the world in anti-Soviet propaganda
Here is lyrics for all who intersted:
    Lenin's flag is above us,
    We came to build happiness.
    Writing with young hands
    Biography of the Earth.
    *Glory to the lookforward!*
*Glory to the one who goes forward!*
*Our path from the present -*
    *To the starry future!*
*Our path is from the present*
    *In the years to come!*
    Youth as a star rocket
    It strives upward every day.
    The clear sunrises themselves
We will light up the Motherland!
    *Glory to the lookforward!*
*Glory to the one who goes forward!*
*Our path from the present -*
    *To the starry future!*
*Our path is from the present*
    *In the years to come!*
The path of heroes, the path of anxiety...
I believe we will go through with you
    An unsteady taiga path,
    A ringing lunar path!
    *Glory to the lookforward!*
*Glory to the one who goes forward!*
*Our path from the present -*
    *To the starry future!*
*Our path is from the present*
    *In the years to come!*
We will give to our Motherland
    The sun of tomorrow.
    Everyone will become like Gagarin,
    Everyone will become like Titov!
    *Glory to the lookforward!*
*Glory to the one who goes forward!*
*Our path from the present -*
    *To the starry future!*
*Our path is from the present*
    *In the years to come!*
    Description:
Yuri Alexeyevich *Gagarin* is the first person in world history to fly into outer space.
German Stepanovich *Titov* is the first person to complete a long-term space flight (more than a day), the second Soviet cosmonaut, the second person in the world to complete an orbital space flight. The youngest person in history to complete orbital space flight.
*Lookforward* is a literal translation. It could means the person who looks forward or the sailor on watch which called "lookout", but I think it sounds strange for the song. Most of the translation was done by the machine and Google Translate service, with only minor adjustments.
