The song was performed by the Big Children's Choir as the theme song for the series, it was composed by Yevgeny Krylatov with words by Yuri Entin. The song's popularity soon separated from the miniseries, and it became iconic in its own right; it was widely performed by various choirs and sung in everyday life. It was one of the BCC's big 1980s hit songs, and was covered by the Soviet musical trio Meridian within months of the series finale at the request of its composer, this cover version in the style of the bard movement of the early 80s would also be a sensation, being featured in the 1985 Pesnya goda festival finals.

@@windy_sky я в 2004 родился и тоже слезы идут.По настоящему человечная песня. И надежда на светлое будущее, но в то же время тревога перед впереди идущим. Это исскуство, все интерпритируют по разному, однако это то что вынес я. Если произведение исскуства сквозь года способно вызывать эмоции, и трогать душу, то оно прошло проверку временем.
А он и умер, даже не умер, а был убит предателями в августе 91...
Everytime I hear this song, I can barely breath and feel heart breaking. Those idealists looked for that wondrous future just found cruelty in the end. It seems some of them already felt whats waiting in the front, but too late to turn around and they don't want to go away, so they match to the miserable future with this funeral song composed for them......
When this song was written in the middle of the 80s they didn't know what waits ahead of them but they had some filing that something is not right. When 90s happed millions had died from the criminal, wars, and heroin because of the collapse of the USSR

And the fall of USSR affected greatly western workers as after the fall the west Bourgeoisie let their neo-liberal greed destroy most of social states right they conceded before with the fear of Communism. i can't never thoroughly express my sentiments over this song, space is the future of mankind, and here i observe as great astronauts and scientists from a fellow communism country explored it with enthusiasm. This hit even harder after the fall of the Soviet Unions.

И если я соглашаюсь на это безумство, то исключительно потому, что по моим прикидкам, на этом озере очень хороший клев, причем вовсе не на склиссов.
Алиса промолчала. Она была примерно такого же мнения об экспедиции, но папа пообещал ей , что для обзора окрестностей он подарит ей антигравитационный скейтборд, о котором она давно уже мечтала. Они вышли из машины времени в приятный теплый день 27 июля 1940-го года. А сам, оставив строгий наказ Зеленому охранять машину времени и не отвлекаться слишком на рыбалку, облачился в акваланг и, вооружась подводной камерой, ушел в глубин озера к той точке, где предположительно и явился странный зверь старому казаку Приходько.
Со скейтбордом Алиса освоилась быстро, и подождав, когда по ее расчетам отец скроется в озере, а зануда Зеленый останется далеко позади, она сделала в воздухе несколько лихих пируэтов, так что ветер засвистел в ее ушах, и в этот момент она услышала слабый вскрик:
- Помогите!
"Как странно..." -подумала в первые несколько секунд Алиса, "здесь же вокруг, мы, всегда перед броском в прошлое, проводили мониторниг и тут никого не должно было быть в округе, кроме этого свидетеля-старика, которому привиделся склисс...". Но буквально тут же ей стало стыдно, что эти неуместные мысли помешали ей сосредоточиться на главном - спасти человека и она, мгновенно извернувшись в воздухе, с крейсерской скоростью ринулась в направлении голоса.
Так и есть, мальчишка лет 10 тонул в трясине. Алиса немедленно ухватила его за шиворот, антграв загудел заискрил, но всё же вытащил непутевого мальчугана из пучины болота. Опустив мальчика на твердое место, Алиса снова вернулась в прежнее состояние и подумала:
"Ох, что же я всё-таки натворила?". Потом, решив, что сделать уже нечего, спросила:
- Как тебя зовут?
- Миша Горбачев.
И через 10 секунд Алиса, Зеленый, профессор Селезнев и всё их будущее растворилось в дымке времени...

Видеоряд конечно достойный, но не о том. В этой песне столько посланий и мудрости. Есть надежда и мечта, есть обещания, есть ответственность, есть клятва, и есть скрытое предупреждение. Предупреждение о том что если мы не приложим достаточных усилий, если мы не будем достойны, то будущее, о котором мы мечтаем, не наступит. "Я клянусь что стану чище и добрее, и в беде не брошу друга никогда" -- это самая важная технология всёх времен, это принцип строительства сверх общества которое уже в свою очередь, сможет достичь чего угодно.
Но, мы не прошли экзамен и сейчас живем во вселенной, где победил капитализм, все люди являются потребителями и пытаются максимизировать стоимость своих банковских счетов. Теперь эта песня о потерянном будущем, о котором мы так мечтали. Теперь мы живем в мире олигархов, США и Британии, с их лицемерием. Нами играют элиты как своими игрушками, захотят пошлют на войну, захотят обложат данью, захотят окунут в бедность.

I may not be a fan of communism or the Soviet Union, and I am also a proud citizen of the US, but I love this song no matter what, it has no mention of communism, and to me represents a free society. Every nation, capitalist or communist, has done bad things in the past (granted in some cases they are unforgivable), but they share one thing in common: its made up of people. We’re all human. This is what this song speaks to me. It also reminds me that I should at least hope and work for a wondrous future

Communism is being misunderstood quite of often. TRUE Communism is an Utopia which will never become achievable. It’s when every person is working hard giving themselves out for the prosperity of all people United. Soviet Union showed why it’s not possible. Even if common folk really basically was programmed to work not for themselves but for the country, there still were corrupted people in the higher ranks because that’s just how human mind works. (Those people became the downfall of the USSR btw)
This song is emotional because it shows what Russian/Soviet people felt back then. They had the most hard and heartbreaking history out of all nations, they’ve literally seen the sh1t which you could only imagine in movies. While others love to romanticise knights and medieval periods, Russians associate such periods with death and despair.

@@OverusingthestaplerI am half Ukrainian half Russian. Can you imagine how its hard for me to maintain peace between my friends? I know what bad things both sides did henceforth I know that no one in this war is “good” or “evil”.
I still consider Ukrainians and Russians brother nations and This war is the epitome of how someone basically brainwashed them into hating each other. (Western countries if you ask me)
Some people from abroad were putting anti-Russian propaganda in Ukraine since 2004 and after Revolution in 2014 some corrupted Russians started doing the same because of the civil war in Ukraine and ethnic cleanings in there. It’s all the sh1t show and I just hope that war will end asap.
This war would’ve ended already if Borrel didn’t decide to “fight until last Ukrainian”. We need peace negotiations. Not promoting the war further.

As a person who grew up *in Russia, it is very painful for me* to listen this song.
It symbolizes all the futility and hopelessness of our present and future.
All glorious (and not well) "past" - today just a spark, that fade in vain.

- Corruption... Not giving a chance for creativity. Here you survive from paycheck to taxes.
- And recent events... Because of which the whole world got angry first of all at the nation.

To think there was a time at least in Russia's history where there was hope in a better world, here in the US all that hope was based on lies as the poor lived in bombed out ghettos for decades and died in the streets, and things continue to worsen here. No true culture, the only culture here is money: of fame, status and consumerism - it utterly destroys everything it touches. More than half the population lives one hospital bill away from the street, there is no hope for a better future felt in the majority of young people here as they become truly aware of what our country has always been: a farce. Only a Socialist revolution will save us, both the US and Russia. This neoliberal hell cannot be allowed to continue.

I like on how this song kind of weirdly portrays or weirdly echoes in my opinion (I do not wanna be that political but here it goes anyways), but echoes a tone of being somewhat anti-natalist in a sense that the world shouldn't be cruel to children and so that they should deserve a wonderous future to the point on where it says something that children shouldn't be born if they are not in a cruel position and/or don't have a wonderous future. Or something like that idk lol.
