So the main premise of the video is the affordability of Caldwell and then you tour a $1.3 mill?
    Kinda missed the mark there.

      You’re totally right.
It is one of the cheaper cities in the valley… I should have swung into some 350k houses.
Thanks for watching… I’ll do better next time!

My main draw to Caldwell is that they have animal friendly policies (10 hens allowed, 30 if you have more than half an acre, and if you have over half an acre there are more animals you can keep). Personally im looking to get an out of city limits property to raise animals on, but if we need to buy a starter home in town this has been a major consideration for us. I currently live in Salem Oregon, and grew up in Dallas Oregon. Family friends lived in Orofino Idaho and we would visit fairly often. I always loved the state of Idaho, especially the panhandle. My dream job in the Caldwell area would be the Dunlap Hatchery, which is where my family would mail order our chickens when I was a kid.

@livinginidaho slower pace, friendlier folks, closer amenities, Christmas is super fun and beautiful at Indian Creek with millions of lights and ice skating rink at the plaza.

I love Boise Idaho I use to live in Meridian 1993-97’. I went back two years ago to see if we wanted to move back but NO WAY! What they have allowed to happen to Boise and surrounding cities is awful! You think CA traffic is bad car wise and housing; Idaho has not done well allowing so many housing it’s like there is no place to breath. It is houses upon houses upon houses! It is awful! Boise is still beautiful downtown, quiet, lots to do, the river running through it, the reservoirs, skiing but I moved out of CA due to the traffic and housing prices; well Boise and the surrounding areas are just as bad. Plus the politics it’s red, red, red so if you have daughters you may not want to live there. And in Idaho they complain about Californians and their money etc but you see why that has happened, realtors here pushing million dollar homes. I will say that when we lived there it was just starting to boom and people with money were coming from everywhere in the country, Michigan, Minnesota, Kansas, CA and building mansions. So it’s not just CA it’s everyone because that’s what the state promoted.
