I am so grateful for this video, but so grateful. I almost bought a 770, and would have gotten the wrong model without you, since I'm using stitches that the 770 can't do. So I ordered a 790. Thank you so much.
I a-8 times asking them to show me hm so glad that I came across your video! I have had my 790+ for years...I am talking YEARS! I have one of the Golden anniversary faceplates, lol. I was sold on the sideways sewing and have been back to my dealer about 7-8 times asking them to show me how to sideways sew. No one could remember how to do it. Thank you so very much! You definitely have a new subscriber!!!
Unbelievable... I have had my machine 5 years and didn't know it could do directional sewing on straight stitch..... I love you!!!! You just changed my sewing life with this my 790
OMG, I'm so glad I found your Chanel, you were so thorough and detailed. Thank you for this. I have a 790plus and I'm learning to quilt. And I had no clue that this machine does so much. I bought it years ago and it just sits and sits. But know I'm getting into it. Again you ROCK!!!❤❤❤❤
This is an excellent video explaining the differences between these two machines and is so helpful for us in making a decision on which machine is the best one to purchase. Thanks.
Danke für diese gelungene Gegenüberstellung!! Sie zeigt Details in der direkten Anwendung und erleichtert die Entscheidung, welche Maschine zu einem passt!!
VERY Helpful! I own the 790 Plus & love it but haven’t had it for long . It does so much that it’s easy to forget or how to get to some of the amazing options! Love it!
Thank you Cody. You’re the top in explaining the Bernina machine functions. I will be picking up my 790 on Wednesday!!! So I’ve been watching your videos hoping to dive into the business once I lay my hands on her!!!
Awesome comparison!! I don't have any Bernina yet but it surely looks interesting. Excuse to my ignorant, is there any reason why the working area is covered by a metal plate? Other than the appearance, does it serve any particular purposes?
Hi Cody love all your videos, so helpful as I live in UK. I have recently bought in the last year, the B335 to take to class. have you made a video on labels for this machine????? I am new to Bernina. I actually have the Phaff expression 4 for my workroom and am thinking about the Bernina 570q. I piece, quilt my own quilts and dressmaking. Thanks Jean
Thanks for a very clear description of the differences between these two machines. I am wondering if the 700 (embroidery only machine) has all the embroidery features of the 790, especially as far as using decorative stitches from the sewing side?
Good question, the 700 has all of the same features as the 790 embroidery with one exception you can't embroider any of the sewing stitches because the 700 doesn't have any sewing stitches to pull from. However if you have another current model machine you can save stitches from that machine and embroider them out on the 700. Hope this answered your question?
only one question , on the one part I could swear you list the built in designs with different amounts, but you said 770 for both. Which has more please?
Haha I’m sorry. Sometimes the mouth and the rain aren’t always on the same page. Total currently the 770 plus has 1809 stitches and the 790 has 1352 stitches.
Hi Bernina Jeff, I live in The Netherlands and would like to buy the 7 series thread guide. However, your Shopify site doesn't appear to ship to Europe. Is there a way I can overcome this? Thanks!
I found it on etsy. www.etsy.com/listing/640084820/18-inch-male-eclectus-parrot-paper-piece?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=eclectus+parrot+paper+piecing+pattern&ref=sr_gallery-1-20&sts=1&organic_search_click=1
Cody, $8,000. 🤯 $8,000 for a computer board that will be out of date and disintergrate in ten yrs. #b77 is looken better and better. Budget. Oh my gosh $8,000. Im realy in "shock". 🤺💐
My Bernina is at the dump. Worst sewing machine I ever had in my life. Right now I have 10 machines set up. Sounds crazy?! The reason is that I had a sewing shop I moved everything back to my house and I decided to sort of set things up the way they were because I have so much fabric to unload. Trying to stay somewhat color coded by having all the machines set up with different colors. Most of my machines have a good amount of stitches to choose from so I'm okay with jumping from one machine to another. The only one that's different from the others is an old Kenmore that is strictly a stretch Stitch machine and I love it. It works awesome for all the fleece products I do. I make hats and scarves for kids and and adults. But it's awesome also for stretchy Fabrics. And it's not a zigzag. It's strictly stretch and the size of the stitches are adjustable. It's awesome. Mostly I have singers and kenmore's. I do have a jaguar and a Janome little gem that I do small projects on. Back to the reason for my post. The Bernina. The reason it's at the dump is because everything was wrong with that machine. The final straw after all the money spent on it and even several repairs I had it up to my eyeballs when the prongs that holds the plug onto the machine literally fell out. The machine was a piece of garbage from day one. Tension was always off. Some of the decorative stitches didn't even work. It was a nightmare. An expensive nightmare. I've had better luck spending 50 bucks on Craigslist for a machine. Unbelievable that the only machine I ever paid such a high price for turned out to be the worst machine I ever had. Sorry but I would never recommend Bernina to anyone. I'll stick to my singers and kenmore's for the most part because they are absolute workhorses and I can do anything on them. I have sewn through several layers without even using a walking foot. As long as that tension on the presser foot is there you are good to go with these babies. They all have different stitches which is another reason I like the variety but the decorative stitches are freaking awesome. The Jaguar is pretty cool too even though it's a small machine. Bigger than the little gem but it's not a huge machine and it goes like crazy. It really is an awesome machine. Good luck with your Bernina but I'll never have another one. And on another note I just found you online and I am really enjoying your videos.
It’s funny how people can have such very different experiences with the same company. I’ve had three different Berninas and they’ve all been awesome. I had the Artista 180 (which was pre-owned) for many years and more recently upgraded to a B770QE (also preowned) with more bells and whistles. I passed my old one on to a friend. Then I added a brand new Q20 for my retirement. All of them work without any problems. The only thing is that you have to oil them frequently, but that’s so easy to do. Maybe you just got a lemon? 🤷♀️
I went to check and see how many ads youtube added to the video and was blown away by how many they added. I deleted most of them. Thank you for bring that to may attention. I rarely ever look and see how many ads they add. :)
@@sewingwithcodyandpete8651 it just becomes overwhelming. I watched 4 30 second or longer ones up to doing 360 degree stitches. And none could be skipped. Didn't know RUclips added that many. Wow.
I am so grateful for this video, but so grateful.

Thanks! I'll be saving up the extra for a used 790 someday.

Just bought a 790 and this was very helpful. Thanks!
Thank you, I have the 790 plus. Great information had my machine for three yrs. Love it.😊
Wonderful presentation explaining the differences between these two machines! So helpful!

I am trying to decide between 770 Plus & 790 Plus - your video has helped enormously in that decision - thanks from UK😊
Danke für diese gelungene Gegenüberstellung!! Sie zeigt Details in der direkten Anwendung und erleichtert die Entscheidung, welche Maschine zu einem passt!!
That was so good ,now i can dream to own a 790 , thank you for the demo

I am so confused now, I had my heart set on the 770QEPlus but the 790 Plus looks pretty good as well. Decisions decisions...
This video was great! I am deciding on a Bernina, which one is the answer. You clearly answered ALOT! And made it look easy
Thank you Cody. You’re the top in explaining the Bernina machine functions. I will be picking up my 790 on Wednesday!!! So I’ve been watching your videos hoping to dive into the business once I lay my hands on her!!!
Thank you! I love my 790+, but am sad about the BSR. I’m glad to learn maybe they’ll possibly add that in a future upgrade.
Thank you Cody! What an outstanding video!!!!
Thank you Cody!!❤
Great video. Never knew about the directional sewing on the 790!
Love my 790
Just learning of you, and your Bernina 7:20 expertise is wonderful! I thought you had a squeaky chair until I saw your fun bird!😆
Lots of good information. Thank you so much.

Fantastic machines

@@sewingwithcodyandpete8651 Thanks! Yes, that explains it perfectly.
I have the B700. I think it has the full-blown version of the embroidery. At least that is what someone told me! I absolutely love this machine!
only one question , on the one part I could swear you list the built in designs with different amounts, but you said 770 for both. Which has more please?
Haha I’m sorry. Sometimes the mouth and the rain aren’t always on the same page. Total currently the 770 plus has 1809 stitches and the 790 has 1352 stitches.
Do all the B790 plus machines have the directional or sideways sewing or did that feature just come out in newer machines??
The 770 with plus upgrade does not show the History feature. Am I missing something or was that not included in the upgrade?

What about pin point placement on these two models?!
Great information.
Random, unrelated question- where is the pattern for that Eclectus parrot wall hanging from?
I found it on etsy.
