- "I would have been unconscious because I was losing it there."
From the moment we got to the hospital, Mason's heart rate would drop every time Meg tried to lay down. That meant that an epidural was now out of the question because it forces you to stay in bed which would have been signing up for a c-section, which we didn't want.
After 14 hours of intense contractions and only dilating 4cm, Meg was finally able to get an epidural at 1:00am. At 1:30am, Mason's heart rate dropped again and the Dr. was called in. Thankfully, Meg had dilated all the way to 9.5cm in just a few hours and the baby was ready to deliver vaginally.
It was a roller coaster of a day but in the end, Mason arrived happy and healthy.

What's up everyone!? So stoked to have you here at the Active Dad community! My name is Jimmy and I have an amazing wife named Meg. We live in Arizona with our son, Brady, that was born in January of 2020. He such a sweet, happy boy and has learned a lot already. We got him a helmet to fix plagiocephaly around 5-1/2 helmets so be sure to follow along with his progress! My wife and I are both very active people who love camping, hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding and many others. Probably the thing that I'm most excited about with being a parent, is teaching my kids about all the fun activities there are to do in this world that I love.
We post multiple videos a week and would love to have you follow along on our journey!

I was able to keep my emotions together for this one but I was a blubbery mess for the birth of my first son! ruclips.net/video/HXuXTEw4FQY/видео.html
omg im in emotional tears😢😢❤️❤️❤️😭🙏🙏🥰😘what a blessing!!
I'm only a few weeks out from my first baby's due date and this video is WAY more interesting and well put together than the "birthing stories" from my child birthing classes. Well done! I'm really enjoying your videos... and glad Meg is a bit ahead of me so I can learn from hers and your experience. I already got my mockingbird stroller and the diaper bag on your recommendation!
He is so handsome. Well done Mom (and Dad)! So Blessed 😇
O my goodness you all had me crying that's so sweet and beautiful. God is good.
So much feels watching this, I was in induction + labor for over 30 hours, it was the most pain I have felt in my life. Epidural caused me to go into preeclampsia episodes and eventually had to deliver via c section. I was crushed because I wanted a natural delivery. Ultimately my son was born healthy and I recovered quickly but I can relate to all the emotions and feels in this video! Congrats to you and your wife, she's so strong!! There is nothing like the miracle of birth. Mason is adorable! Watching the way Brady interacted with him the first time brought tears to me!! So precious.
YOU are incredible! The amount of pain that you women have to go through is so hard to watch. Sounds like you were on quite the roller coaster yourself. So glad to hear that even though it didn't go the way you had hoped, your son was still born a healthy baby. :)
Beautiful video and Brady is such a sweet big brother! Congratulations to your family.
