Love this bike. Mine just came in. Picking it up this Sat. Can't wait!!!
Congratulations! Did you go with the RVE or the standard?
@ClutchFirst Thanks. I did go with the RVE yes.
@@ClutchFirst Have pics posted on the ducati subreddit
"This is competitive on price" hahahhahahahahahahhaha
Torque is for starting off and horsepower is used when top speed
Nice !!
youll love it , my speed triples been gathering dust since i got an smcr . ridiculous fun
It is better looking that the KTM variants and the electronics are more sophisticated.
Also sitting on one the suspension seams stiffer and more road bike focused than the KTM.
It is quite a lot down on torque and only a tiny bit up on power at the top of the rev range.
Ducati comes stock with titanium, magnesium, light frame, light wheels, lithium battery...
And it's still heavier than the KTM variants.
So when the dealer talks about removing weight, there's not that much to lose on the Ducati where the KTM you can make 20lbs lighter quite easy.
Also a ECU flash, intake and exhaust mods are easy and affordable on the KTM, where on the Ducati only the expensive official Ducati options are what you have to choose from.
I want to like it really bad.
But value for money isn't there.
Great deals available for GasGas 700 SM here now so that makes a lot more sense.
The guys at this dealership were super cool. 👍🏽👍🏽
It was a blast chatting with the Ducati staffers. All great guy!
Beauty, I've been hoping someone in the Northeast US would pick up a 698 and show rides, reviews, mods. Congrats
I’ve got you covered. Are you planning on buying one too?
@ClutchFirst awesome thank you, and possibly; although, I already have a 950 Hyper and my eye is really on the ktm 890 smt
Can’t wait to see this in the garage! 😍
You and me both!
Nice bike. Personally not a SUMO guy myself. Hopefully Ducati will make a off-road enduro version of this similar to the 690r. I might be interested in that.
So excited for this bike.
I'm beyond excited. The bike hasn't been delivered yet and it's already one of my favs on my collection. :D
@@ClutchFirst Yeah it's taking forever. When is yours coming?
@@DucatiDiaries It could be delivered in a week or two. I can’t wait!
BHP figures look good in the brochure. Torque wins races!!
Supermoto king? Really dude. It's gotta take the king off it's throne before it. Can become a king!
Another superb vid. Very informative
Aside from crazy excitement there’s some decent content no in this one.
Looks fantastic 🎉
Yeah man, it’s the new SUMO king. Are you gonna get one too?
Great choice brother!
I think so too!
Some of the extra electric trickery is only available if you buy the performance upgrades from Ducati.
So Tremi exhaust and intake mod.
So what is the actual full price for the 698 RVE with the performance mods and all the electric goodies.
Def. Buy but maybe wait until lit year 2
Can’t wait to see and hear the full exhaust
Imagine what it’s going to sound like with an SC Project full system exhaust. 😍
Heavier than the KTM 690 by a couple kilograms (even with cast wheels), has 10% less torque and has only marginally more HP without the non-street legal factory tune which cost an arm and leg... A new, italian engine. A lot more expensive than the competition, yet it looks cheap compared to the 950... A true king in... not sure in what exactly.
Stats are just stats
@@rs660alec3that’s just another Ducati cash grab
I’d rather convert a CRF450RL to a supermoto. Less expensive and more true to a supermoto. This bike is beautiful nevertheless.
U never owned a Ducati
@@ryanrodriguez70 and never will. I like Japanese bikes.
@@ReyPereztvDon't be so one eyed Ducati's desmo have a wonderful feel.
@@billcarson4566 i never said anything bad about it tho lol. I said they’re beautiful bikes lol
The CRF450RL is a cool platform to build a Supermoto. I agree with you. However, I do love the fact that I can buy a ready to go SUMO and enjoy myself. How much more would it cost to do a full conversion of that bike? Thank you for watching dude.
Smcr...used same hp and waay cheaper! Oh n every 6 lbs. Is a hp
We need a V4S HM...
That sounds like it would be nuts. Thats a crazy amount of power for a SUMO. LOL
Its still expensive as a first bike for non-ducatista..
I don’t know if I’d consider this bike expensive due to our current climate of $35K-$40K bikes. How do you think the 698 will fair against the KTM 690, 701 or the GasGas?
@@ClutchFirst i dont see our generation of bikers coming through like when we were 18-24.
Kids don’t have money to buy one.. don’t have credit to lease one.. so who are ducati targeting with their marketing..?
Existing Ducati owners will buy this, because its a Ducati thing.. everyone else will wait and stick with the cheaper KTM/GasGas/Husky alternatives and look at 2nd hand 698’s in a few years.
No rear pegs included or they extra? I saw them on the pics when the bike was first coming out.
they're included, they just dont ship them installed on the bike.@@toyotascott
@@hypermotardking Agreed. Certainly in the UK insurance will be a big part of the cost of running these for youngsters. Recently sold a 125 cc to a friends son, first bike just passed his CBT. Getting quotes around £3000 per annum for a bike worth £1000!!
I don't fit the age range, I'm looking at it in my 40's as way to remines to my days of motocross, but on the road without the mud! 🙂
Don’t forget total after taxes that will pretty much cost well over 14k. No thank you.
Yeah man, it’s a nice chunk of change, but it’s a nice bike. I’m definitely going to enjoy mine. What do you currently ride?
@@ClutchFirst I currently ride Trumpet 765rs and Duke 390. I’ve had a gexr 1000 and rsv4. Yes, it is a nice.
2 exhausts No ty
Thats a hard pass.. a emission canister????😂 wtf is that?
