Congrats and enjoy! I went with the base model because I prefer the all red and ordered the quickshifter separately. Just got notification this week that she shipped! Looking forward to seeing some of your first ride impressions soon 🤙🏻
@@ClutchFirst yeah quickshifter is a must on this bike imo. I’m going to do the carbon front fairing, termi exhaust, and mirrors. Also removing chain guard like you mentioned you’re doing. Think I’ll keep livery stock as I tend to like simplicity. If I did anything, maybe a livery to match my V4R and Pikes Peak since I love the graphics on both those bikes.
Putting a 180/55-17 on the rear just adds unneeded rotating mass. Something pretty contradictory to do for someone that says they want a full exhaust system to get the most power out of the engine. Will also change the geometry/agility of the bike through corners.
I like how the 180 profile look but you have a good point. Figured since I'm already shaving a lot off, I can potentially do the 180. Haven't fully commit yet. Thank you for watching.
Thank you for the recommendation. I'll check them out. I currently have a set of Dunlops Q3s on my Monster that I'm happy with. Are you planning on getting an RVE?
It's tough to explain but it's seats lower than the Hyper SP. The bike squats quite a bit once you're on it. Hence why I have my buddy that's 5'7" sit on it as a reference point. Are you planning to buy one?
@@ClutchFirst I might. I have the normal Hypermotard 950. And I'm 5'6" lol... So I bought the lowered seat for mine to feel more comfortable 🙃... I might wait for the 450 like your friend said
@@ClutchFirst I’ll be totally honest, I can’t afford it right now. Currently riding a CF Ss 450 and even that doesn’t get used too often. I will have to wait a year, since I don’t like to buy motorcycles on credit. But it’s totally my dream bike 🔥
Well now you HAVE to leave the dealership with the full termi .. absolutely ridiculous stunt by Ducati locking the software behind that sale. I’ve also noticed rear pegs are missing (from the promo photos) not that they are needed or will ever be used on this bike, but welded trellis (fromPictures) over those plastic guards…… saved them some more money on production.
It's a single cylinder bike. So why does it have 2 exhausts/mufflers ? 2 cans have to weigh more than one. And the Ducati Termignoni Full exhaust is only 1,5kg lighter than stock according to Ducati. The Catalytic converter in the stock exhaust has to weigh at least that or more so why isn't there an actual weight saving with a race exhaust ?
Still no fuel indicator? What year is this again? Yeah the display is better than the older Supermotos but damn. The bike is everything a supermoto driver wants. I hope it has some power as the ktm in low rpms.
I see 100% an SP with full Ohlins package and different livery, MX-GP or MotoGP inspired livery on the horizon. I just got the 2023 Hyper 950 SP and full upgraded the parts with Ducabike, SAMCO hoses, Rizoma Stealth mirrors and CNC Racing parts. The Hyper twin is just nasty. This bike is super good looking. I won't be surprised jf the SP of this arrives near the end of the year.
Damn, sounds like you have an amazing Hyper SP build. I agree, they will make an SP version once they phase out the 939 & 950s. The RVE is the perfect setup & cost for a beater motorcycle. I wouldn't want to spend more on a bike that will eventually touch the ground. What's next for your Hyper SP?
The 698 is about $10,000 more expensive than a yearly run out KTM 690 SMCR here in Aus. The glaring question for me is: Is it actually $10,000 better? Especially given if you want the wheelie assist from Ducati you have to add in the Termi Exhaust which is an almost $5,000 AUD option. That's a $30,000 bike. I'm just not seeing the value.
I'm not sure if one bike is better than the other yet. However, it's nice to have a brand like Ducati official join the SUMO movement. The more competition the better it is for the consumers.
Please don't remove the chain guard. If your chain does snap, It guides the chain to the front sprocket and down towards the ground. If the chain guard isn't there, the chain is a insanely fast moving metal whip that will ahialite onyour foot. Not just hurt you. Completely wreck you for life. Goes through flesh and bone like it's nothing. It will easily go through any riding gear or boot as well. The force is something unreal. Pick up a motorcycle chain. Then imagine being whipped with it. Then try to figure out how fast that chain is moving when it's traveling around the sprockets when the bike is going 60mph. The chain guard is close enough to the chain to prevent the whipping motion and it's destructive force. It's not there to keep chain lube from flying on your gear. It's there to keep your leg from being destroyed beyond any hope of repair and you bleeding to death.
You and him are both right. I have a KLX and it's really loose up top too. On my KLX, I have to sit really upfront for it to feel more natural. Are you buying 698 Mono?

@@bbouchan1 I think the Ducati will be a bit faster due to the factor that the engine Revs higher. Once you do all the weight reductions with a full system, this bike will be a beast.

Most supermotos would have sliders through the front and rear axles only. In your situation, an engine case cover will be a big help for sure.
