I love how 80s and 90s artist could deliver a fucked up message but it still sounded romantic. He basically saying I can only be your side nigga and it took me getting grown to realize that.

This came out in the summer going into my sr year of high school 1988/89 school year! New Edition, Bobby Brown, Surface, Rob Base, and Prince all came out that summer. Loose Ends. Eric B and Rakim. We were jamming into the school year! Big Daddy Kane just came out also. Much love to my brothers and sisters!
