Nice to have this all in one place to finally explain all this, I know people like to hate on it but I do think the dango system in rise helped make all this much much easier to understand and use consistently
I think between the main dev team and the portable one they both made drastic improvements and lot of QoL changes since Gen 4. I don’t remember what MH4U was like as far as canteen but having played MHGU the last few days it definitely seemed a lot easier to understand, and I think World expanded on just about everything in game, and rise helped smooth things over. I’m hoping the next Main team release keeps things as they are. I like having a lot of hidden mechanics and values thrown in because it makes it more fun to learn the game
