    When you eat an MRE at higher altitude, sometimes it’s hard for the heater to get going. A trick of the trade: when you see the fumes start coming out of the bad after adding water, hit those fumes with a lighter. It will make a big flame then it goes out super fast. It helps “jump start” the heater.

    Love this, inspires me to fly camp in winter. A question, the tarp over your rig at night... Do you think it would be fine to just put a small bag over the carb and stuff the throttle in there if say it rained? The whole tarp or added tent extension seems like a bunch of extra material which could be minimized. Was there anything else you thought you could do without? How warm were you with that 1 person tent? Final question, are you going to try to make it to Salton?

    • @MarkHuneycutt
      @MarkHuneycutt  Год назад

      I brought the tarp for dew. I wouldn't have flown if it rained but if it did get caught in rain, I'd prefer my reserve, seat, tools, wing, etc stay dry. That's why I bring the eno rain fly. I think I could of left the tripod but everything else was useful. I was warm. I hope I can make it

      Download Davinci editing software. It's free, but complex if you don't edit (easy if you do). They just updated and added a new Audio effect. Under "Effects -Audio FX" you'll find "AUSoundIsolation". It's a game changer. It gets rid of all motor noise but I actually dial some motor noise back in to get rid of a slightly weird voice reverberation. I'll share my mic setup below but the good audio result was all post flight editing. Very good feature Davinci added.

      Mark, I downloaded the DaVinci software but it looks like you have to have a console to operate it because it has twist knobs. I'm wondering if there is a more user-friendly version that you can use with a laptop. I also want to search for audio enhancer software that might get rid of noise.
