I've always felt that the optimal use of the paramotor is to travel to remote locations. This is perfection! Great job with the video.

@@Tina-mt9cl that would be an incredible trip!
Love it, this is still on my paramotor bucket list. ❤
do it
Awesome adventure, thank you for inspiring the rest of us to dream.
20 degrees? You guys are nuts!................but that was awesome!!!
20 isn’t bad really. I hiked Virginia once in february. 3 days in Virginia and it was never above freezing. The first night it was 7 degrees.
The thing is Mark couldn't bring much gear with him. What he was wearing was his main sleeping bag. @@rule1dontgosplat
Some of my best adventures are freezing my ass off haha
totally bad ass adventure.. camping at its best on top of a mountain watching the sunrise.. epic.. thanks for sharing.. 🙂👍
Yessir
I 1000% know exactly where you camped. AT thru hiker and that’s one of my favorite sections.
That sunrise was amazing. Fantastic adventure. One of the last times I went camping it was so cold I didn't get a wink of sleep. That hot coffee looked 11 out of 10.
That sounds awful. I was actually pretty cozy with the sleeping bag and Sea to Summit Reactor Extreme Liner. The coffee was so good. Such a luxury and treat when camping
Awesome, love it! Thanks, Mark!
The mountain views are fabulous right after takeoff from your campsite-incredible job capturing your skills and adventures!
Good job! Too dang cold. Hey Ben!
Wished I had the courage and the money to do a Paramotor. Your adventures are amazing. One of my friends works on that Medical chopper, the one in Haywood County at least. So happy I discovered your videos! So fun to watch!
That is freedom. As a German guy, I always have to travel across the Baltic Sea first to have exactly these experiences. Luckily we have cool neighbors to the north, east and west. 🥰
Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for watching!
amazing place to camp but I would suggest a camp site lower down in the valley atleast in that area it would be much warmer and much more sheltered from the winds and colder Temps. kinda looks like Yakima valley Washington
I like mountaintop camping! If it's windy, sure, I usually find trees or go lower.
Awesome adventure video! Love it! Also nice looking goggles, how's the peripheral vision?
Good. No complaints
sick video, thanks for being honest about mountain flying at the end, I was wondering if conditions were junk coming back mid-day, I've been tossed around like crazy over those mountains, enough to command respect.
Absolutely. Pretty calm conditions both days luckily
Great video. Avery County airport has changed so much in the last few years. The old timer pilots there used to laugh and make fun of me and say I was crazy for flying paramotors lol
Great airport for paramotors!
Curious if either of you have any advice for landing at Avery County. Planning to fly in there in a few months and have been told the air is really wonky there.
@@willrichter9538 what are you going to be flying in with? And the air can be weird at times but it's not bad. I never flew my paramotors there but did fly some ultralight in and out and that's where our R/C club flew for years at. What I always found interesting is that the 35 end of the runway is about 50 feet lower than the 17 end. Oh, and don't fly low over the Avery correctional facility/prisons (about a mile South West of the airport). They don't like that lol
Flying in with WSC Revolt Trike.
@@willrichter9538 you shouldn't have any problems
That's a nice mini adventure.
Always an awesome video Mark. Effortless takeoffs on the mountain too. I was expecting y’all to do nutz to buttz camping since it was so cold but then where would you put the wing lol.
I don't know Ben that well 😛
I got into paramotoring to do just that, I fly into the Florida Everglades and it's awesome.
That'd be a fun spot
Sweet journey👍👍👍
Create video Mark, looks like a blast!!
To cold for me, but very beautiful…….

OMG~!!!😳
So So So cute mark Jr~😍💘💝
He's super cute and snuggly
No 45 for the mountain lions?
no mountain lions in NC, no 45. I'd bring my 10mm anyway
This is so sick bub! What the heck that's awesome
Thank you
Love it
Great footage!
Question: Where do you take your parapoop? and do you have to take it out with you too??
Bury it properly. In flight - not a good scenario.
Best is beautiful boy good on you two. How awesome I don't really see you much so it's great to see your wife then child great blessings
Best David
Cool mountains nice camping be sure sleeping bag is pre fluffed in dryer with baseballs if needed for loft if it's 23°F a 0deg bag is nice ; ¿so I'm seeing effect of increased weight to fuel economy is that so what is your pack weight 2nd weight of everything less wing ? It be neat to develope a graph for different weight pilots of paramotors and wing width desired just for flight speed and motor size type required something you are familiar with by now at least a bit
Leave it better than you found it😊
Bring the pledge of allegiance back into our schools~!
This is soo cool 🫣😄
Great Video!
Hey, Mark. I'm a retired Army pilot and I'm new to paramotors - went through training in June. I'm in NC looking for some people to fly with. You located in the mountains? I'm at the coast.
I'm in Asheville, but I've flown to the coast! I used to fly Blackhawks in the Army
That looks flat enough for a trike. What do you think?
Ignore the hall monitor trolls. No need to explain your risk assessment. Freedom first. Safety third.
Do you have to communicate with pilots or airports when flying
dude how do you carry it all? my backpack for cold weather weighs in around 28 pounds
I wouldn't doubt it if mine is similar, but I didn't weigh it. I forgot to show a couple things that pack down small enough that I put them in the side and bottom pockets of my paramotor - sleeping bag, sleeping pad, sleeping bag liner, toolkit. I'd actually like oversized bottom pockets for trips like this
@@MarkHuneycutt that makes sense then. the tent and sleeping bag are so bulky. i think for an overnight camp and fly i could really cut down on some of the stuff i take backpacking. After i get a lot more flights in i’ll have to look at it. do you camp near the AT at all? one of your trips looked like it was right on the appalachian trail.
I work at the mine where you got fuel, how hard is it to do this for someone that has never flown at all?
No campfire!? 😢
die hard, love it!
How fast are you going ?? In km/h
25mph
Привет из России! Ты молодчина!
Thanks! I was working on my Russian paramotor today - Skymax Pulsar. Just installed the fixed tank
Thank you.... seriously I appreciate the video of Mount Mitchell. Means a lot. Please keep up the great work. Don't know if you take ideas, but cold mountain (35.409411, -82.856149) flyover could be interesting.
Definitely. Would have to fly 2,000' AGL over it since it's in Shining Rock Wilderness.
Waiting for the time lapse . . .
Still waiting
Never understood why some like to do a looooong intro to a video. I clicked on it to watch about camping on a remote mountain. I guess I'm just too impatient. Stopped watching early in. Hope it was worth it.
⏩️
It was a preview. But I know what you mean, some YTers have the same long graphics and music as an intro that I skip over.
@@DAS-Videos Yeah, you're right. I just don't like skipping over something to get to the good part. Just put the good part up front and we'll all be happy. I promise, the intro won't be missed by anyone other than the creator/editor.
