      @@MikesMonsters I feel that. When I was little, I remember having to go to very niche Japanese stores that were very uncommon and even then I’d still have to be pretty lucky to find anything Godzilla related.

    I'm curious to see how these scale with the new Bandai Namco Godzilla Action Figures that were released earlier this year. Unfortunately, at 35.00 I don't think they'll sell very well, especially with the BNG figures which are similar in size being about 8.00 less, and those figures come with beam effects. Don't get me wrong, the price point doesn't bother me THAT much, but that's ME. I'd like to see these companies do figures besides 50 versions of Godzilla though. Where's King Ghidorah? Where's Rodan and Anguirus?

    • @MikesMonsters
      @MikesMonsters  3 месяца назад

      I think with new lines like this, they always have to start out with the standard characters we are always used to seeing, and if they do well, then we see more characters. Just look at how they've done the ReAction line. We have ALL of those characters you listed, and much more coming because that line is selling well. If we support these new lines because we like them, we will be rewarded with more characters in the future.

    • @MikesMonsters
      @MikesMonsters  3 месяца назад

      @uxebob sure, but they aren’t meant to be accurate proportions. They are meant to be slightly stylized, more of a kids toy look, like the old Trendmasters figures from the 90s.

  • @Larva_train
    @Larva_train 3 месяца назад +2

    These look very nice in my opinion, I feel like people are whining a little too much about these, since they clearly aren’t meant to be accurate at all. I however do agree with some people that they could have added maybe a few more buildings, but that’s just a small nitpick that doesn’t really bother me at all, considering that these are both the price of one Ultimate Godzilla figure.

    • @MikesMonsters
      @MikesMonsters  3 месяца назад +1

      They really do look great for the stylized direction they went with them. I think if people got what they wanted and had more building accessories in the package, then they'd be complaining more because the price would go up even higher.

    • @Larva_train
      @Larva_train 3 месяца назад +1

      NECA actually got a little more expensive towards the end of their run of Godzilla. But yes, they were around this price at one point. • @johnnyseawalker3634
    @johnnyseawalker3634 3 месяца назад

    I would say the same for their Ultimates figures. They're good figures but the price point is inevitably going to be compared to other brands. The recent Ultimates Godzilla Minus One is superb but the price would be better around the 65-70 after tax range. These figures would do much better in the 20's range. I guess have faith in the folks that will buy the product. If the items are cheaper, more folks will buy them and believe in the brand. That's a good invitation to new collectors as well.

    • @MikesMonsters
      @MikesMonsters  3 месяца назад +1

      For the size of their Ultimates figures, I think the price point for Minus One was perfect. Comparing it to something like SHMA which is much smaller in size and the closest in articulation too, the $140 price tag makes Super7 look even better. I do think the new Target exclusive Super Kaiju line could be a little bit cheaper though, but that's not something Super7 has control over, that's the retailer setting that price.

    Super 7 really thinks they’re premium price worthy. These are at best $20 figures as their ultimates aren’t even close to being $85.
    I don’t know what this company is huffing to price their figures so high especially lacking major articulation. I got the ultimate Snake Eyes figure for $10 and that feels warranted unlike the ridiculous $55 price, no shoulder or thigh swivel, double jointed elbows or knees, and the heads majorly lack in movement.
    The fact here we finally get jaw movement after fans requested it is just sad to me, meanwhile Monsterarts, Neca, and Hiya had that since Day 1. Again these are decent figures but for $35 I’d expect a lot more… but then again it’s super 7 so I’m not surprised. If they’re gonna keep doing retro style figures in this and their Reaction waves charging more than $10-$20 is way too much

    • @MikesMonsters
      @MikesMonsters  2 месяца назад

      I think they are meant to be fun, kid-friendly figures that don’t need all that articulation. They are just smaller versions of the Super7 Ultimates line, mixed with a throwback to Trendmasters with the inspiration.

  • @AgentGodzillaRP1701
    @AgentGodzillaRP1701 3 месяца назад +1

    Nah, these are heinously overpriced, just like everything else Super7 makes.

    • @MikesMonsters
      @MikesMonsters  2 месяца назад

      What if I told you these figures, at this price point, were a specific request to Super7 FROM Target because they wanted an exclusive Godzilla figure from them to sell in their stores for that price? Because that’s what happened here.

      @@masonj4779there is no article stating it, but I’ve spoken to some of the Super7 folks behind the scenes and was given this information. • @MikesMonsters
      @MikesMonsters  2 месяца назад

      @@masonj4779to add to this. Target also would request Bandai to make things like this for them too. It is normal practice for a retailer to reach out to a company to produce figures at a specific price point and size scale. That’s why they are also now selling smaller scale Bandai figures that look like Movie Monster Series and the new articulated Final Wars Goji & Kiryu. Target wants to push more Godzilla right now because he’s a hot commodity. It’s not just Super7 that got a request to design something exclusive to Target.

      I'll agree with you that the price may be an issue, but bad? Nope. Unless you can explain to me why they are "bad", I can't see them being that way. Overpriced, sure, but bad, no. We gotta stop with the discourse of things being bad because the price might be a little high, or if it's just a figure that isn't for everyone. Not every toy is made for every type of customer.

      Can't lie. I'm inclined to agree.
      Gonna order one to see how it is in hand and to support the fledgling line of goji figures, but that nasty gloss finish, the blocky awkward proportions, and price don't instill confidence. But hey, maybe when I get it in hand, my opinion will be more positive.

      @@MikesMonstersyou’re telling me a $35 figures with barely any paint and cheap toy gloss, playmates level of poseability, an ugly overbite hinged jaw, half a broken building that has no paint and you have to buy the other figure to complete (that doesn’t even lock together and just sits loosely on top of each other), and a ugly bendy wire tail that’s a shrunken sculpt that barely bends isn’t bad to you? Price has everything to do with the quality of an item. People expect if you pay more (costs more), you get more because that’s how the real world works. Sometimes you get more bang for your buck, sometimes you overpay, not everything is 1:1 but there’s clear outliers, like Super 7, that you pay exceedingly larger amounts for things that are far from being worth the price tag. This is a $8-$10 figure being charged nearly $40. I think we should stop shaming people for having “discourse” by saying something is bad. If you like it, you like it, people can like bad things, just as people can dislike good things.

      @@MikesMonsters Yeah, they are bad because they lack good detail, even though the paint on these figures are fine, they're not $35 fine. They look very plain and somewhat cheap. Especially those dorsal fins on Godzilla. The articulation on these figures are basic but good enough but the heck-the heads don't move up or down and all we're getting that's different is jaw hinges, not very exciting. They'd at least include accessories that weren't laughable. Those buildings are a joke. No atomic breath or laser eyes for $35? Just 5 inches tall too. Even there 8 inch scale Godzilla figures for $85 have been sorta lack luster except for maybe less than a handful. Neca gives us great toys for literally the same price point, they come with so much paint, similair to better articulation but so much more accessories that it's hard to justify toy companies that don't give back for what you're paying for. And yeah, not every toy is made for everyone. Not every toy needs to be bought but when you're only targeting a certain audience... and this is all you have to show for it. That says a lot/enough about those collectors themselves. These are $25 figures the max. I love that Super7 is giving us Godzilla toys. I want them to succeed but I just want them give a little extra/do better for what they charge. I hate to complain and rant. That's my bad

  • @masonj4779

    Bought mecha-Godzilla…………that thing is very overpriced, lacking in articulation, very small. It doesn’t even compare to any marvel legends figure in size. Why? At $35 this 5 inch figure is so small when compared to other figures in that same category. Returned it the same day after I bought it. I’ll pay the $100 for better figures from better companies. I’m glad you like this but super7 really made it known just how little they think of its customers. At $20 it would have been perfect.

    • @MikesMonsters
      @MikesMonsters  2 месяца назад

      They aren’t meant to be the most articulated figures, but instead throwback figures inspired by Trendmasters from the 90’s. Small and meant to be played with by kids. These actually have a ton more articulation than the inspiration of Trendmasters too. While I understand your complaints, those issues you have were not the intended directions they were going with the figure. They aren’t meant to be super posable like their larger Ultimates figures, and are made to be smashed together by a kiddo enjoying a Godzilla toy. I will agree that the price point is indeed high, but here’s the twist, it was actually Target that requested Super7 to make these figures at this price point, not S7’s decision on pricing. I do think they’d sell much better at $20 too, but that was Target’s choice. I’m not sure where you got the idea that Super7 thinks little of their customers…? Care to enlighten me on that?
