Mate that boiler with the flue going through that extension is unreal that’s a failure of building control big time ! Makes you wonder what the local council were looking at when it was inspected 😂
Regarding ID and AR situations, I have seen some operatives who turn off an AR appliance without obtaining the customers permission. @10:43 - you need 1 rad with no TRV so it acts as the by-pass for the system (unless there is an external 22mm auto by-pass / manual specifies different). but not a bad job tho, TRV changes are nice on a sealed system (easy ££ as they say). not a bad few jobs there tho. keep up the good work and uploads.
All I can say is ditch using CORGI. I had a few years where I used them to fill diary gaps. But the type of work was such I would not go near them now. The services I do for my own customers are like night and day compared to these insurance firms.
Oh 100% totally different level of service, but I literally only use them to fill in gaps when it's quiet. To be fair I've had a few customers come back to me to replace their boilers out of it because they've seen that even the basic service I do more than other engineers they've had round
Thanks man, yeah I don't work weekends anymore and only did the bank holiday coz we've got 3 this month and I've had to take time off for other stuff so needed to just fill in the day 😉
Cheers for this video Mark, can you let us know why you picked the gun you went for, I Cant get my head around why we have so many different types of press fitting ?
Thanks mate, I prefer the shape of the Novopress, find it easier to get into certain spaces. Also there was a cracking deal on it last summer with Williams and have never seen another deal anywhere near as good as that so lucky I got it!
I looked into corgi home plan to fill in diary. But wasn't sure how it works as I do fixed prices on my jobs and they wanna know hourly prices.. im guessing the higher your hourly rate it the less jobs you get? Would be interesting to here what other things you have and hourly you find work cos work has dropped off for me now.
Same here mate, I usually work on fixed price on my private jobs. With corgi they give you the first hour regardless for attending and then if further works required you give them an estimated number of hours you think it will take, plus cost of parts. The number of hours you want to state is up to you to make it worth your while, if you catch my drift...
Never had a tail with a 3/4 nut split a rad, either you don’t have the tool to remove it or have never done it
👍🏽
Should’ve just got a 3/4 one they’re easier to swap that 1/2inch as it’s a union
The repair kit has never failed for me, at a tenner you can't go wrong. And it saves doing a pita job.
Oh 100% 🙌🏽

That's IF they even called out building control to inspect it! The homeowner apparently done it all himself so I reckon the whole thing is a bodge
@@cputilitysolutions madness! people don't realise they're putting their own lives at risk
I’m only trainee gas engineer and I was shocked 😂😂😂

Hey loving the videos
I’m curious because I’m thinking of going self-employed .
What sort of rates do corgi pay?
Cheers dude, they vary depending on area, but they usually give you guidelines of rates in your area when you have your onboarding call with them
Another good vid broski. Remember to have some time off when you can 😉

Nice work, do you do contract work for British Gas?
Thanks, no I don't mate
I do some work for them too. They're not bad in terms of payment times.🐧 servicing 🙈🙉🙊
That diverter with the bypass is from the 2004-2008 model. I've been caught out in the past!
how much they pay u per service?
Yeah they pay quick and repairs is where I can make my money up. Yeah luckily I clocked the bypass before I started stripping it out!
You can set your prices with them

Unfortunately Corgi don't take on anyone during the summer, you'd be looking towards September.
@@lemmykilmister450 didn't know that mate, good info 👍🏽
What do you use instead of PTFE? On the rads?
Jointing paste on olives or either loctite thread or rapid blue stuff on brass tails
@jimmym4265 spot on 👌🏽
He's correct you don't need ptfe or jointing compound on a compression joint only on threads
Has anyone invented a WIFI TRV which can be operated without bending down and suitable for the elderly?
I think the closest is Honeywell Evohome or Tado
Yes my G

whats 26 9 checks?
