I've just recently realized the impact and talent that Dean Martin had. I didn't even know who he was most of my life...being born in '78. As I discover his music, comedy , & movies & share it with my kids I hope they understand & appreciate what actual TALENT is. I don't know anyone in the entertainment world today that has a voice even close to Dean Martin's, so controlled, so smooth, & so beautiful. I'm looking forward to visiting Stubenville, seeing as I live less than an hour's drive away and have been through several times, having no idea that Mr. Martin was from there!
He had the voice, the class, the cool and the hearts of all of his fans. Always a joy to hear and watch. Loved his TV show in the 60's. Only he could knock the Beetles off the charts. Everybody does love somebody sometime and his fans loved him ! Pure magic.
Wish I could have met him while he was alive. Your father was the best . I've chatted with Alex a few times . He's just as kind as I would imagine his grandfather was .

Sinatra was legendary.... Sammy was phenomenal.... Dean Martin had a coolness, likability and an obvious kindness, all in a package that couldn’t be paralleled. That’s why he’s my favourite and always will be. My rifle, my pony and me - my favourite ever Dean song. RIP to the coolest man alive!

It's a long story, but I'm sure you'll find it if you do some intense research when he began using the booze as part of his act.He was so good at it, that he would even fool the people would fill his glass with apple juice (Which was a prop) for his act. He & Jerry were partners for exactly 10 years to the very day; from 1946-1956 @ the time, Dean was 39 years of age in 1956 and I want you to stop!, and think for a moment; you're trying to say that Dean started to drink @ 39 years old. I don't think so. when he first went on his own without Jerry, He needed to reinvent himself so he was given the advice from a few people to have a drink 🍷 in his hands etc. which became part of his act.Though he, and even his friends and enemies would swear it was part of his act. They all said: including "Dean" in several interviews: He would only have a glass of wine 🍷 or two with dinner but that was about it. Sorry, I didn't mean to ruin it for those that didn't know; just that it was part of the act.

It was Dean Martin's That's Amore. He could not speak a word of English but he loved it and so did I. I wish I still had that one but I did find another copy.
Is there a stipulation that says you don't deserve the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy until you are at least 10 years gone? Of all people in that industry, why does the King of Cool have to wait that long to be honored? He should have been honored in the early 90's for crying out. At least while he was still alive. The world of entertainment will never see the likes of him again!
Sammy Davis a 3 threat, sinatra yeah ok but DEAN MARTIN imhumble pov had it all , he should have received more than this award to the one & only cool king smooth sexy that voice approachability funny at ease man yes .im from col ohio so do i have to behind him nope do i choose to OH YEAH
