I’m not saying that definitely was not a personal experience of Drew’s but you guys do realize that stories comedians tell are not always the truth, don’t you? Sometimes it’s just hyperbole…fictional material designed as a great setup to deliver a great punch line. If you related to the story on any level and recognized it as a truth no matter how painful or dark the story may be, but then couldn’t help but laugh about it in the end… then your comedian succeeded. However, I was also suggesting that when and if any comedian tells a story on stage that really didn’t happen to them-that they just made it a part of their set-it doesn’t make them dishonest! It’s just part of show business! If I suggested that Drew may not have really experienced something that he said he did on stage that isn’t being unkind to Drew! I’m certainly not calling him a liar! And maybe Drew is the exception and only tells stories that are 100% actual true stories, but my point was that it would be naive to say all comedians perform to that standard and it would be silly to suggest that they are doing something immoral or “wrong” if they didn’t.
Amazing that he has such good timing when the stutter is trying to fuck it up. It's like he's doing a comedy show while in a boxing match with his own throat.
No joke this is one of the finest comedy specials I have ever seen. The honesty, the delivery, the intimacy, the ability he has to laugh at himself and help others who may be going through similar problems is just spot on. I feel like both this special and Bo Burnham's Inside represent the best comedic products to arise from the pandemic and I return to this special every few months because it is just that good.
The fact that he made an hour long special with NO ADS, is amazing. This man is so honest and genuine and funny, I remember watching him on AGT, and he was so fucking funny 😂😂 great work Drew! 🥳🤩
As a transgender woman, I got very nervous when the trans jokes started coming. I have to say, I highly appreciate your approach to comedy with minority groups. And as far as reactions go, I totally agree. I never expect anyone to just instantly be like "oh ok cool". Obviously there's an adjustment period, for everyone involved. The surprise reaction is completely natural, it's the attitude you take AFTER the surprise that matters. TLDR; I love your comedy. Keep it up :)
Drew is a comedy genius. His jokes have many layers. He can bring something together in a series of jokes. It’s just the way he writes this. His timing. I’m so glad he is growing. More people need this therapy.
I listen to you when I'm under pressure due to my own disabilities. Not only super funny and smart, but also encouraging. You are like my personal emotional cheer-comedian
Omg I know right, I loved him on that show and tbh I forgot about him until I came across his name few days ago on a RUclips short and forgot how funny this dude is. Glad to see that even though he didn't win that he was able to be seen enough to get his name out there and is able to do exactly what he loves to do.
This is why Drew Lynch is always at the top of his game...he never disappoints and is a brilliant writer of comedy as well as performer of his craft...🤣🤣🤣🤣...💕👍🤟...
@@nmarkert01 Netflix has been popular as of late for stand ups. HBO use to be the go to place for comedy specials. To me it doesn't matter. One of them needs to offer him his own special. His common sense comedy won me over. He's my current favorite next to Jo Koy.
The fact that one of the most brilliant comics whose humor brings me so much joy ALSO deals with Depression, and still continues to create incredible content like this gives me hope beyond measure. Love you, Drew.
Same. You'll find that MOST all comedians suffer with severe depression. Comedy is what keeps them going. Like, Robin Williams for example. Severely depressed, but also amazingly hilarious & no one would've ever guessed he was hurting. I've followed Drew since his first AGT audition. He is an amazing talent. ♡
"Okay some people look offended by the Trans jokes... ....so here's some more" "Okay some people still look offended - let's move on to politics" Holy Hell that was phenomenal.
I thought it was impressive that he could make jokes about a sensitive subject without being mean or ignorant but still be funny. Way to be respectful of different perspectives.
I'm gender-fluid and even for a while considered transitioning before realising it wasn't quite what I wanted. It's really funny to us in the LGBTQ+ community how the people who get offended are people getting offended on our behalf lmao!! These were amazing jokes. They weren't just going for the low hanging fruit or hateful.
I love that he took on “heavier” topics, making both sides comical. Brilliant! Absolutely hilarious! I’ve been watching Drew since AGT and had the pleasure of seeing him live a few years ago in CT. I had the honor of meeting him and sharing with him how much of an inspiration he was to me. When he was on AGT I was still struggling with my speech and mobility post stroke. Now, years later, I’ve moved to NH. I just spent a few months traveling down the east coast, spending time in VA. I’m headed back to CT to spend Thanksgiving with family before heading home to NH. I never thought I’d be where I’m at or doing what I’m doing, but here I am. It was hearing his story of perseverance that gave me the kick in the butt I needed. “Why am I giving up?” So I decided not to. Thank you Drew for sharing your story and talent with the world. You’re absolutely hilarious and you’ve come such a long way. Be proud of yourself, we’re all so proud of you. 😁
As a person who identify as trans, this is SO DAMN FUNNY. My family thought I was sobbing, I mean I was, but it was because I was laughing! Drew is an absolute legend! And the fact this is all for free, the greatest comedian from the beginning of the earth to the end. Never stop, Drew!
Finally found the downtime to watch this. As someone who has a speech impediment and a stutter, watching him not only brought me laughs, but he’s also brought me a lot of joy and comfort with me being the way that I am. Drew your special was absolutely hilarious and I can’t wait for the next one.
I'm a trans man. Admittedly, I was pretty afraid the whole way through your segment about gender. Not that I didn't think you would handle it well, but I've heard so many jokes taken way too far about the trans community that I couldn't help but worry. And I just wanna say thanks for not having given me reason to worry, with your respect as well as your honesty while handling the topic and not making us out to _be_ a joke. I'm so relieved your comedy is a safe space.
Dude, Drew. I’ve followed you since AGT. You’re amazing and I love your wit and charm. Mental health jokes had me laugh out loud “bandwagoners”. I’ve been battled depression for 30 years. Glad you’re still here, man.
LMAO. I asked my wife, who is a Speech Pathologist, about those phrases. She started laughing and was like "Oh yea, there's so many!" Phenomenal as always. The only thing missing was Drew laughing at his jokes lol. Cracks me up even more knowing he finds it just as funny as I do! lol.
I've honestly watched so many of his clips just for his giggle! It makes my day a little brighter and reminds me to laugh as much as I can, both at myself and the world ❤
As a person who has personally met Drew and Mel, they are really amazing people! They love one another and genuinely love every single person that have seen, heard, or watched his act!! I used to love watching Drew tear apart the hecklers in his Facebook clips. Now I get to watch an hour long special. Now it can be Christmas every day. Thanks Drew.
"We don't care if the asteroid is the size of Texas. Just so long as it hits Texas." LOL!!!!!!!! "I grab the hedge trimmers & say something clever like 'You've been scissored!'." OMG!!!! "I identify as a laugh, because I am a man who stutters. Hee hee hee him." LOL!!!!!!! Some of Drew best puns went SO underappreciated!!!
idk how many ppl are getting offended on our behalf... most of the comments I see are either trans people who found it funny, because it’s not making “haha trans people” the punchline or pushing any anti-trans sentiment, or transphobes who think any excuse to laugh at trans people should be defended. I liked the trans jokes, but I also hate the people defending comedians who punch down.
@@jade_is_tired being offended about things is part of people's identity now. It's about them and their "virtues" not the people being discriminated against. Not being prejudice doesnt mean never mentioning trans people like they dont exist. The reality is that good natured jokes about groups of people are part of inclusion.
Drew is The Man! He is a brilliant observational comedian. I have enjoyed watching him grow from a brilliant starting comic to a full-blown polished professional comedian! I love that he is not caving to wokism and that he makes his jokes and gently chastises anyone who might get irritated without pandering. I think this shows his intelligence because shortly after making such jokes, which are only jokes and nothing malicious, he changes topics and does not linger on the material that triggers the miserable people. He doesn't cave but he also doesn't provoke. That's smart. Other comedians with long-time careers stay on the topic far too long and it becomes unfunny and arms the miserables. Drew's comedy is clever, bold, sometimes raw, never boring, always engaging, intelligent, and most of all hilarious! I love this guy!
I watch a lot of stand-up. Some are so-so, some are great. You sir, are absolutely awesome! Your jokes are crisp and sharp. I have not laughed out loud like this in a while. Thank you!
I'm just proud to see how far he's gotten. Its honestly inspiring. He's honestly funny, and I enjoy every second. Its only more incredible when you realize where he started, and see how much work he's put in.
I’m crying hearing how upset Mel was, and I think Drew is about to cry too, & then he says “she missed my show that night” & my sobs immediately turned into belly laughs. This entire special was medicine to my soul & I hope it was for Drew and his fiancée as well! 💙
I've been in a low place for a while and a friend recommended your special. I'm going to hug and kiss that friend making him very uncomfortable, because hands down the best comedian and performance i have watched in years. Your approach to very difficult and sensitive subjects its brilliant and beautiful. You have made my year. If I can't make it to America to see you I hope you get the opportunity to come to the UK. The intelligence and thought that goes in to your jokes are obvious and brilliant. The subtle jokes that underline the punchline are masterful. I watch our future with anticipation. I wish you ever success. All my love and I hope you and your fiancé are well and have a beautiful future. x
This is an absolute gem. I have appreciated your humor since I first saw you on AGT (which says something, since I don’t normally watch the show) but I felt compelled to say that you hit the mark, again and again and again throughout the whole set. At the very end, the whole “bandwagon depression” bit had me literally laugh out loud, which as a very reserved person, and a soldier who has suffered from PTSD for many years, I found especially funny. Thank you for all you do, and the courage to confront “your demons,” thereby allowing all of us to have just a bit of a better day. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart
This covered a huge range of pretty sensitive topics and I laughed the whole way through, amazingly funny guy with terrific timing and a wicked sense of the ironic and moronic things that humans say and do to each other. Well done sir, very well done.
Watched part of This RUclips and will be re-watching the whole thing at home with my husband. I am so excited that he finally has the special that he has deserved for so long
Drew Lynch is my new favorite comic. I laugh so hard that I almost cry listening to him. His brilliance, timing and insights are so good. His comedy make life way more bearable.🤗
As someone who falls under the trans umbrella, the way that they where phrased and said is perfectly done. Most people are too scared to make these kinds of jokes, but I love it when people try. At least he tries, instead of just being scared about making them.
@@NickHaus683 I’m more confused reading your comment. How could I be confused about who I am as a person. Drew isn’t very likely to see this, but earlier last year I was in hospital for around 41 days owing to my severe depression and anxiety. I hadn’t been doing good - I’d had several attempts on my life and even on the ward, I hadn’t managed to leave my bed for days on end. One of the only things I had to keep me company when I could muster up a little motivation to move was RUclips. More specifically, Drew. He managed to put a smile back on my face, however briefly, and remind me what it was like to laugh. I can’t put into words how thankful I am so saying that I’m grateful is the ultimate understatement. But thanks man, from the bottom of my heart, you really helped.
The delivery, the unexpected punchlines, the change in pace for different moods, the difficult topics... i stood up from my couch and applauded. Bravo Drew and thankyou so much for putting this on youtube. We all needed this
Just one criticism...you didn't laugh at any of your jokes. Your high pitched cackle is one of the things people love to laugh at. Enjoyed it tremendously.
I think that happens more during crowd work when he is coming up with it on the fly and its the first time he has heard it too. Lol. I love the crowd work clips. So funny.
I agree … a lot of us think it’s so cute and “genuine” when he laughs after a joke. And then his classic line when one of the judges on AGT commented on it and he says “… well I wrote them.” That was when I knew he was genius.
I put this on the TV while my mom and I were eating, she didn't even knew who you are, but she was laughing even harder than I was. You're so good, never stop doing your thing Drew.
Ngl, as an English human being on this planet I was not expecting much just for the fact that American and British humour can be very different but as a person across the pond I thoroughly enjoyed this and found it absolutely hilarious 👏

The way Drew/Rew (Drew without the D) brings jokes full circle is phenomenal. Watching his evolution over the last 5 years has been great. Looking forward to more!

YESSS!!!! Love both these guys. Spot on
The fact that he made an hour long special with NO ADS, is amazing. This man is so honest and genuine and funny, I remember watching him on AGT, and he was so fucking funny 😂😂 great work Drew! 🥳🤩
No one’s talking about how adorable he is?! The dimples and when he lowered his head to meet the mic. And hilarious to boot.
That look is absolutely killer, isn't it? He's so adorable!
@@valkyrie1066 ikr 💞
And omg the way he laughs is just the CUTEST!!!
The fact that this is free is astounding. You’re hilarious 😂
The way he side eyes the audience and smiles is just as hilarious as his jokes. Love your comedy Drew!

I did the same thing. I am glad that he is a success.
I just found out by your comment that he was on that
Ikr! It's been soooo many years
Omg I know right, I loved him on that show and tbh I forgot about him until I came across his name few days ago on a RUclips short and forgot how funny this dude is. Glad to see that even though he didn't win that he was able to be seen enough to get his name out there and is able to do exactly what he loves to do.
“Now that he’s a Buccaneer will he make less money?” That deserved a bigger reaction! Clever social commentary AND funny. Dude, you rock.

This is why Drew Lynch is always at the top of his game...he never disappoints and is a brilliant writer of comedy as well as performer of his craft...🤣🤣🤣🤣...💕👍🤟...

Give this man a Netflix special!!! He’s too funny!! The Mario joke had me dying
maybe uuuhhhhhh maybe not netflix
Why does it have to be Netflix? Hulu, HBO, Amazon, plenty of options. RUclips could also give him one and not just him post his.
@@nmarkert01 Netflix has been popular as of late for stand ups. HBO use to be the go to place for comedy specials. To me it doesn't matter. One of them needs to offer him his own special. His common sense comedy won me over. He's my current favorite next to Jo Koy.
I agree
Amazing! Flying back from Orlando to Boston and this man got me through it
The fact that one of the most brilliant comics whose humor brings me so much joy ALSO deals with Depression, and still continues to create incredible content like this gives me hope beyond measure. Love you, Drew.
Thanks, man ❤️ appreciate you
"Okay some people look offended by the Trans jokes...
....so here's some more"
"Okay some people still look offended - let's move on to politics"
Holy Hell that was phenomenal.
I thought it was impressive that he could make jokes about a sensitive subject without being mean or ignorant but still be funny. Way to be respectful of different perspectives.
you forgot the one after
"let's bring the mood up guys. let's talk about mass shootings"
Or..."There was a black man out front doing nothing"
"Oh good you arrested someone"
Crowd:OOOOOOOOOO
Drew: It's a joke! They obviously shot him"
Bruh I read this comment right before he said that 🤔
I'm gender-fluid and even for a while considered transitioning before realising it wasn't quite what I wanted.
The phrasings, his intonation, the timing, the material. It’s top tier stuff.
Another trans person a year later and I couldn’t agree more
he never had a stutter
As a person who identify's as C4, I thought this video was so funny.
Finally found the downtime to watch this. As someone who has a speech impediment and a stutter, watching him not only brought me laughs, but he’s also brought me a lot of joy and comfort with me being the way that I am. Drew your special was absolutely hilarious and I can’t wait for the next one.
Thanks man. Appreciate that so much
@@TheDrewLynch thank you for bringing comfort to not just me, but many people who struggle with having a stutter ❤️
So glad to have rediscovered Drew. Laughed my butt off, when I first saw him on Comedy Central, a while ago. His humor has aged like a fine wine!

OMG you're too funny! I am loving this special 🤣

I used to love watching Drew tear apart the hecklers in his Facebook clips. Now I get to watch an hour long special. Now it can be Christmas every day. Thanks Drew.

"I identify as a laugh, because I am a man who stutters. Hee hee hee him." LOL!!!!!!! Some of Drew best puns went SO underappreciated!!!
THE PRONOUN JOKES ARE SO FUNNY I SWEAR
As a trans guy, I was CRYING with laughter at the trans jokes. Fucking hilarious. Some people just get offended on our behalf
My only concern was that the crowd laughed more at the parts that almost sounded transphobic and not the reveal that the punchline wasn't transphobic.
and as a Christian man, I was CRYING with laughter at the Jesus joke!! It was hilarious, some people just need to loosen up! #jesuslovesusboth
As a christian man... I saw that sentence going way different not going to lie. Nice work
idk how many ppl are getting offended on our behalf... most of the comments I see are either trans people who found it funny, because it’s not making “haha trans people” the punchline or pushing any anti-trans sentiment, or transphobes who think any excuse to laugh at trans people should be defended.

Thank you!
Damn, same here. Way above the usual stand-up. Jokes, pacing, delivery
I'm just proud to see how far he's gotten. Its honestly inspiring.
He's honestly funny, and I enjoy every second. Its only more incredible when you realize where he started, and see how much work he's put in.

Thank you ❤

As someone who falls under the trans umbrella, the way that they where phrased and said is perfectly done. Most people are too scared to make these kinds of jokes, but I love it when people try. At least he tries, instead of just being scared about making them.

So funny.

No good comedians don't laugh at their own jokes, he is getting better.
@@TechNextLetsGo That's a matter of opinion, clearly. I find it funnier when he does.
I agree … a lot of us think it’s so cute and “genuine” when he laughs after a joke. And then his classic line when one of the judges on AGT commented on it and he says “… well I wrote them.” That was when I knew he was genius.
