I have seen watermelons shot with a .45 acp before and I can tell you that was not a hollow point.
If the HP is too slow, it won't expand. That's what happened with the .380 and the .45, I'm guessing.
@adamjohnson6432
EXACTLY! This was the stupidest test I've ever seen. Too many variables that weren't even covered:
#1 The shooter, always need more than 1 shot, & preferably more than 1 shooter for the sake of comparison. #2 What were each of the chamberings being fired from? Different guns shoot different ballistics. And were each of them maintained equally? We don't know do we? #3 What grain pill was each firing? "All HPs" doesn't cover it- and, as Adam Johnson said here- That .45 was DEFINITELY not a Hollow- I shoot every single day- and I happen to have each of these chamberings in S&W M&P Shield M2.0, except the 30 supercarry is S&W performance center - not the shield. I have several .45acp in full size, compact, carry, sub compact; My Glocks are all full size - from my Gen 3,4, & 5 G17s, and Gen 4 & Gen 5 in each of the G21, & G22. I also have 9mm in Beretta 92F, and the Beretta APX A1 Carry, in 9mm. I have shot plenty of watermelons- they are NEVER identical, never the same size ir ripeness as the next--
even if they were somehow clones of each other, 1 guy with different points of impact on his shooting BTW-- Definitely no good & NOT valid to blast a single round from -?- what gun? with -? what loads & what ammunition ? Publicly posted here as a comparison to- AS a "ballastics test" of 5 very different rounds -
I know at point blank theres no way a 9mm (which i love btw- not just a 40 & 45cal guy- 10mm is also a great partner in self defense carry- 40cal with the oomph of somewhere between a .347 SIG (no not mag) and a .45 with ACTUAL hollow point ls-- Remington Golden Saber 230gr .45acp out of any of my guns would blow thet watermelon up I just packed a 1.5 x12 tube/.033kg of Emulex 927 inside the mother Fu**er.
This "test" pisses me off. No attempt at making it a controlled experiment whatsoever.
It's like if I wanted to make a video of which of 5 cars are the fastest- and then had 5 unknown cars that were all Red, each be driven 1 mile on the highway- but never showed what type of cars they were, what engines & displacement + HP and torque each put out etc etc etc - just a crapshoot of 5 cars that are all "red" and were driven 1 mile on the highway.
Hmmm 🤔 any to flawed logic to that experiment?
I'm sure you would agree that different drivers in different cars- say a dodge charger driven by Dale Earnhardt, then a Prius, driven by an 80 year old lady isn't going to render comparable results...
Please, don't waste perfectly good watermelond for a half-assed test...
40 all day for me
Love my 40 too!
9mm all day long !!! Thanks for the testing !!
Yes sir Earl!!
I’m still with 40
Let's be honest. What ammo? A 9mm +p HP was definitely used. The 45acp was a FMJ. C'mon, man.
Nope 115g both for the 30 super and 9 - same grain weight same ammo.
FMJ vs +P+ 9mm…
Give me a break!
RIGGED! I was hoping for an Apples to Apples comparison.
All 9mm fanboys do these rigged tests.
The 30 SC performs much better in 100g loads. Retest the 30 SC in 100g Speer Gold Dot vs a standard load 9mm in 115g Speer Gold Dot and I would bet you see no difference, and both rounds are very lethal.
EXACTLY!!! This guy is so full of $h*t.
Wow I would have figured the 40 would have won the melon test! Was close but 9 did great! that 30sc did pretty good too! have a good one
Yes sir! 9mm kicked arse same grain weight and bullet as the 30sc
I figured the 45 would have won hands down. Good video, was an eye opener for sure 😮
@@TrailBoss1860Ammo type was different
40 is bigger faster and more energy than 9..this cat using some setups to get those results...sad
You did not mention what kind of ammo you used this test
Was it the same barrel length? Was it the same make of ammo and/or same brand and type of bullet?
🤔Bullet grain ,and type of hollow points, and barrel length, have different results
Who cares? Just a couple guys prepping the melons for tomorrow's BBQ.😂 Not everything has to be a scientific test.🤓
@@joshrandall3632 Yes, it has to be! Because if you say it is science nobody dares to question what you are doing or saying (reference to the "Science"during Covid years).
@@dmg4415 Those of us with average or better IQs knew it wasn't a scientific test when we saw they were shooting watermelons.🤡
I don't shoot watermelons but I do shoot wild pigs in my backyard and I can tell you hands down 9 mm let's them run off and 40 drops them in their tracks.
Nice!! Love the feedback!!
I like the video I daily carry 3 of the 4 rounds in this video depending on clothing "print" so I appreciate it!
What 40 cal ammo do you use on pigs?
@@magnumpi5429 I typically use federal hydroshok and golden Saber from Remington
@@mike_hunt_fish_trap Thanks for replying, thinking about getting a 40 cal.
45 was fmj?
What kind of round nose 45 ammo is going on here. There is no way that the 45 and the .380 did the same damage with hollow points. There is Tom foolery about in this comparison.
What rounds did you use? This proves very little without that information. Bullet weight and load (standard, +P, or +P+)
I would say that the type of 9mm round expanded more rapidly then the others. That is not always a good thing.
Fair
Thanks for the video. Certainly a difference between them.
Yes indeed a difference!!
When I saw this video the 9mm hit the center of water melon the 40cal.hit the lower part of a water melon so you can say 9mm and 40cal.has the same damage while 45acp did not blew the water melon less damage to the 9mm ,you said 9mm is jhp maybe the 45acp you used fmj full metal jacker, your video are bias not equal.
Same length barrel..?
I knew i wanted my 9mm melon killer .
The Melon Killer 😂 🍉
What HP did you use for the 45? Easily the least impressive 45 round I've ever seen. Performed like FMJ. I'd say use a quality brand next time.
Thanks Jr. appreciate the video. Hope you have a great day 👍👍
Anytime Lance! Always appreciate you
Juicy test .Looks like the 9mm May have done the most damage. Thanks for the video.
Very juicy test!! thx for dropping in!
Because they used a hot 9mm HP round & FMJ rounds for the other calibers. 9mm fanboys always make biased tests like this.
What grain ammo was each cartridge? That .45ACP round was not JHP!
Was that a 147 grain +p+ 9mm? (Winchester Ranger T)
Nice video ! Thanks Jr.
Thanks Herbert!
Melon test are the most fun. Thanks for sharing this vid.
Yes they are!
Nice video, what type of ammo fmj ,hp,?
All HP… interestingly the 30 Super and 9mm were both the same manufacture and grain weight 115g.
Was all this hollow point ammo? Also what kind of ammo?
Yup! Going to revisit this
Definitely the 9mm but I was surprised because I picked the 40 lol. Well, as usual I'm back to being wrong on your comparisons lol. Good video Jr.
I would have guessed .40 also lol so we're in the same boat Bob!
Depends on the bullet weight and load. A +P+ in a quality hollow point 9mm would shoot totally different to a standard load inexpensive hollow point bullet in 9mm.
No details on the ammo at all. I find it hard to believe that 45 ACP got the least amount of performance.
Not all watermelons are created equal. You need ballistic gel to perform a credible test.
Fun video though 🤷♂️
Now when a good eating size pig comes into eat those melons it will be bbq time. The 9mm did best but wonder how 30SC does on a pig? Good comparison. Thanks guys. 👍 👍 🇺🇸
Got a 30SC meat test on the way Bill! Thanks for dropping in as usual.
@@cr42hunting99 Meat test should be real interesting. 👍 Thanks
Why did you give the 9mm the smallest watermelon?
It def wasnt intentional.
Yeah what kind of bullets?
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Good video.
While probably pointless, this was very satisfying and entertaining to watch. Loved this video :) I've been debating between 9mm and 30 SC and I can't decide. I like having 16 rounds instead of 13 and the less recoil of the 30 SC, but if 30 SC doesn't become popular I might just blow $450 on something that no longer has ammo available for it. Hard choice.
Yes sir… we make some alot of vids just for entertainment things we would like to watch
I bought a Shield 30 SC and love it. I would highly recommend it. I’ve seen other tests that are properly done that prove it to be very close to 9mm. 16 + 1 in a super compact pistol is amazing.
I'm not the smartest man in the world but I would say the bigger the caliber the more resistance would be needed cause more of a bullet upset! ballistic gel would definitely tell the truth between those calibers
I was hoping that the 30 sc would produce more damage than the 9mm.
It faired okay but definitely not more
It preforms better in ballistic gel so there's that
Man these fruit vids are hilarious…any of these will stop a threat, first 48 has proven it over & over again.
Nope 30supper carry 100 grain is my pick, light weight faster bullet than the 9mm and will go further than a 124 grain in a brick of gelatin, and will do much more damage
🍉
Well what difference does it make, every last one of those guns thats sitting on that table has the ability to put you six feet DEEP! SO it really doesn't matter!
