This was good. I was one of the few kids at my high school who liked Green Day. Ppl didn't like that they "sold out." these kids saying that at my school weren't even punks. I thought it was hella cool that they blew up & they were from my town & went to the same high school. Can't wait to see them & Rancid on this tour.
Cool story. Living in and going to middle school in Tampa, Fl, in the 90's, me and my two brothers were the only ones who really listened to Green Day. The "alternative/skater" kids thought that green day sucked so we used to fight them after school. We were truly inspired by the band, and they opened up the doors for us to get into other bands from the Gilman scene in California. Not to mention bands from other labels such as Epitaph, Hellscat, and Lookout.
@VicM-xc9zb yup there's some bands I never would have known if not for Green Day. I didn't go to 924 Gilman until my nephew was in a band that played there in 2010 😅
They sold out with american idiot. When u become pop sounding, easy listening.. thats selling out for me.. those newer albums have absolutely nothing on dookie. Its kind of like.. they went from alternative/punk.. to just alternative.. to alternative/pop.. like blink.. i heard "i miss you" and i knew it was over 😅
@@zeppelin1851yea blink was great..take off your pants and jacket was the end..I can't even watch em live, tom sounds like he's dying. I don't know what he's trying to do,but he has this choked, gurgled off pitch throaty thing going on it sounds so bad. It sounds like a human trying to sing terribly out of key, and trying to correct for it with auto tune/pitching.which I think he's the first human to do that
I’m a big Green Day fan and I really appreciate all the time you put into this video. You did an amazing job! I subscribed. I hope to see more great stuff from you in the future :D
@see.these.thoughts I’ll subscribe, fingers crossed, that you’ll do an unusual deep deep drive on 1. Nimrod-Greenday 2. Pinkerton, with some B sides like Mykel & Carli (blue album) etc..Weezer, 3. In Utero-Nirvana 4. American Idiot-Greenday 5. Blue Album-Weezer. Like me I’m sure the stories are known but there are people who haven’t heard them. Thanks
The Story Behind Dookie: "See, I was sittin' on the can in the back of the studio this one time, right? And I push, and I push, and nothing comes out y'know! We've all had it happen, but this time it was serious. No matter what approach I took, shit wasn't happening y'know. Then, just then, that's when the Exlax started to kick in. Things just started to move along naturally, almost by themselves, y'know! And we were just so INSPIRED y'know!"
I’m sorry, but when my eyes first scanned acrossthe title I thought it said “Green Day: Uncovering The Stories Behind The Ever Flowing Dookie.” Instantly clicked though bc it’s Green Day lol
Loved Green Day back in the 90’s as a depressed teenager, but then I grew up. Billie Joe Armstrong never did. Maybe that’s part of his appeal, being all Peter Pan-y and stuff, but Peter Pan and politics do not mix.
Why’d you click on this video then? Go find something better to watch. There’s so much content on youtube, i’m sure you can find something more entertaining than posting hate comments lol

Everything after warning sucked :)
New album is really good...didn't like 21cbd but the others were ok. But the new one is really good imo.
