Arri Signature Primes, Arri Master Anamorphics, Panavision T-Series, Zeiss Supreme Primes, Panavision Panaspeeds.
Idk man… you didn’t mention Sirui
These right here are so much more popular nowadays, on top of rehoused Vintage Nikon and Canon K35
There could be a whole episode of rehousing lenses from companies like Zero Optik, TLS, or GL. Canon FDs, Olympus OMs, Nikon AIS’s are used frequently at our shop.
I’m sure it could be interesting to cover some more “budget friendly” gear (cameras, lenses, etc) for indie DPs or filmmakers
Maybe a video breaking down the applications and differences between de DZO Film line ups, Vespid, Catta Ace Zooms and Pictor Zooms. Lots of indie filmmakers are choosing these budget friendly options.
When you finally get to a Part Seven, anamorphic it would be great too see you address include Todd AO 35, Arriscope, Clairmont Scope, 2.35 Research and Technovision. The series is incredible and exceptional like the rest of your videos. Thanks!
This channel is just what I was looking for and is very informative and a treasure trove of knowledge.
We need a part 7 with the Leica R lenses
Vespid Retro is definitely a speical lens in this huge vintage wave
The [currently prototype] panavision VA lenses are going to be in one of these videos pretty soon, those lenses are shooting so many films now. (With so many releasing this year alone)
Yep, it seems recent movies were filmed with VA lens. Like "Where The Crawdads Sing", "Air", and "Transformers: Rise of The Beast". (Source: IMDB tech specs from respective movies) and several article about the movies' behind the scenes.
Awesome video as always! Would love see you do a video on the Cooke 18-100mm lens
You should do one on film stocks, their looks and characteristics and famous films that were graded with them.
Good afternoon!
First of all I want to thank you for what you do! It is very useful and invaluable!
Please tell me about Leica R and Leica M lenses, how they differ from each other and I would like to see a review of Contax Carl Zeiss optics
Awesome work 🎉🎉🎉
Great video.
Some lens suggestions! :)
Kowa Cine Prominar Sphericals
Xelmus Apollo Anamorphic
Lomo Round Front Anamorphic
Your videos are the best dude. I've learned so much from you.
Will you be saying anything about Schneider lenses in an upcoming segment? It seems to be a brand that is overlooked, at least when it comes to their photo lenses, and I haven't seen anything about their cine lenses on your channel yet. I am only just now getting familiar with the Schneider Kreuznach and soon the Retina DKL lenses and am very impressed with them.
Thanks for another great video! C Series anamorphic Panavision Lenses could be very interesting to see in an upcoming video - Spielberg's early smash hit: "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (wild but beautiful flare) lenses. Just a little thing: All Planars are symmetrical, but the wide ones, Distagon in Zeiss parlance, are a retrofocus designs, which is an asymmetrical lens design, so are the Sonnars, which are a telephoto lens designs.
Hey the part where you talked about the vespa retros. can u maybe the music video that you recently shot
I'm so curious to see your work
i've shot two features (one narrative, one doc) on the Super Speeds - i LOVE those lenses. for next feature (horror) i'm looking at cooke anamorphics
RIP to your 1st AC

its a video about popular lenses in the industry but the first thing you mention is dzo vespid? they only have one single feature credit on imdb technical..
the DZO lens are decent for the right crowd... but I like the Meike FF, they are so great I have the whole set now- I tested these as they came out... PLEASE mention the MEIKE... I am a DOP of 20 YEARS and these are basically t2.1 versions of CANON CINE primes... as far as look, they really are - The 50 and 16 are weakspots but the 85 the 135 and 35 are stellar an they cover a 45 image and are larger than DZO so they dont look so akward on my RED and they have a MASSIVE 330 through --- only issue is the marks are on the op side only - minor issue but anyone looking at DZO should test these and compare
Here again! Lukazs Zal cinematography style please!!! 🙂🙏
What is the difference between standard, and fast speed with lense types, what do they do different and what does it mean, as I always get confused on this topic.
I’ll guess the fast speed lenses can open more the aperture than standard lenses
The super speeds are at least a couple of stops brighter, as in 4x the amount of light, at their maximum aperture
@@nicolasrios782 Oh excellent, now I understand, thank you for that, much appreciated.
@@DollyRanch Oh now I understand, thank you for that, much appreciated, so with faster lense speeds it lets more light in at it's maximum aperture.
Zeiss Standard Speeds & Super Speeds have an almost identical look. The Super’s open up to a T1.3 vs the Standards at 2.1. I don’t think that’s 4x stops but maybe 2? Anyway, they both look incredible and if you really need the extra light then it’s available to you, but in most situations the standards are perfectly fine and beautiful!
Which is the best lens for Red Komodo X?
Red Komodo are going to be approved for Netflix😊
If you want budget friendly go blindly atlas orion or laowa anamorphic or if you don't care about budget mid budget is sirui , sony , atlas mercury and if you want premium go cooke, zeiss, canon ,arri, anomorphic lenses.
Dulens! All i van say is dulens
this guy has no shame to pimp DZOFilm's " cine " lenses. I wonder how much he's getting paid.
I still dont get it why some of those lenses are somewhat “fat”
Manual smooth mechanics, focus operation (large diametre = more precision), repairability, compatibility with industry standart accessories (follow focus, mattebox, filters etc). I know, Leica M are a thing, but they are not vignette free, ca free etc.
