Thanks for posting Michael. Awh that is such a sweet sounding Mercury. Always brings me joy when the water pump is pumping out that water stream after l have reolaced the water pump. Great point on the individual grounds being terminated. In houae wiring you can pigtail the grounds together as they aren't carrying any current. Not the same with DC power. Cheers
I’ve been working on boats for 38 years. At Mercury school they told me a 1986 was a one year only cowl color change. It has a golden tan stripe on it. I have one,I guess they could have made others like the rest. Keep up the good work it keeps an old fart like me awake. Ha Ha
I did some digging, in a future video the serial numbers align with it be a 1986 for sure. Same year as the boat it has been on its' whole life, thanks for watching
Ten thumbs up!! I can’t get enough of your beautiful work!! Makes me keep trying on my old outboards. You know how it is, ups and downs. Love your attitude ❤.
I have replaced the floor on an Evinrude boat like that one. There is no foam in the middle, it is hollow there. There is foam further out from the center. Fix the keel correctly and have a “ Hamby “ keel protector glassed on .
Awesome video 👍👍 The Tower just sounds amazing 👍👍Dang I hope the Evinrude boat isn’t too bad with water.. cause it will be a great setup with the Tower power. 👍👍 Like the idea of taking the Tower out for a test run first on Big dent Alumacraft .. But I got my fingers crossed 🤞🤞for the Gray Bandit Evinrude 👍👍 Great drone footage 👍👍Stay safe and As always Sir thanks for the ride along and Keep’em coming
What a great transformation with the tower of power, looking forward to the impeller video. Did you ever find out where the smoke was coming from when you trimmed up the motor? I would agree with you the 165 hp and the tower of power are great motors Thanks, Tim
If you find that the foam is waterlogged might be better off taking the whole top cap off the hull to replace and repair the foam/stringers Well, should you choose to fix if needed
Would sand blasting be a quick and effective way to clean those surfaces that you scrape? The rough surface would be sealed with gasket sealer. In my opinion, it would save a lot of time and labor. Just sayin...
