What can I say? listening to this in 2024 - 31 years after original release, and I smile, and my heart is full. There's only one Kate Bush.
I was 15 years old when this song came out. I didn't speak English at the time and had no idea what she was singing about, but I had a powerful connection with the song. Now almost 30 years later I can finally enjoy it at his best and words can't describe what I'm feeling.

I've been in love with this woman for 45 years.
I listened to this kind of wonderful music already in 1993 when this album came out. I was 17 back then, in high school.
And...
Back then I painted her picture with watercolors with this fruit dress, and still today that painting is on my wall!
Kate is a huge artist and so precious. Her music is pure love and light.

This traditionnal dance is called Zar. Only Kate is capable of incorporating any traditionnal music and dance from all the world and any culture. Her brother Paddy is very savvy in music from Madagascar more specifically but also anu world music.

I used to not care for this track as it sounds fairly uninteresting for a Kate Bush song, but after looking at the lyrics, I began to appreciate it.
This is a lovely celebration of food, sexuality, femininity, and pleasure. I am particularly touched by her sentiments regarding male femininity:

I agree totally. Kates's perspective on gender relations has always been a theme with her and it's amazing. I love the track Song of Solomon from her Red Shoes Album, which plays on that relationship sentiment. She is amazing and inspiring.

I recall there we a long hiatus between Sensual World and the surprise release of this song. I was waiting for many years for new material. I bought the cassingle and played it every morning when i woke up for weeks. It was a nice welcome back. Big Stripey Lie was the B Side.
