    Have you assembled Lily Anne Cabinets before? They are pretty similar but are usually both cheaper and better build quality than Cabinets 2 Go. Order times are usually pretty quick unless you pay for assembly. Not only are the droors dovetailed, but so are the all panels, and they use metal brackets instead of plastic.

    Ron, great video. I just put 3 of the cabinets / drawers together myself. Question about hardware.
    The sliders for the drawers. From what I could figure out based on lack of instructions my drawers had pre drilled holes on the back plate and single holes on the bottom of the two sides. Slipped the back pointy things on the back plate and the sides had individual metal anchors the fit in the holes on the drawer sides.
    You mentioned adding screws ? Where did those go ? Instructions IMO we’re not good. Thx !!

    • @tommyeddie5599
      @tommyeddie5599 Месяц назад

      @rickgoracy5521 screws are used to hold the slider bracket to the inside of the face frame. I don't use the screws provided by Cabinets to Go because the heads of the screws are small & tend to allow the bracket to come loose. I purchased larger head screws from Home Depot. I have used Cabinets to Go in my kitchen at home & 3 of my rentals.

    I installed a vanity next to a door like that. Installed the casing. Then realized my drawer hit the casing and I couldn’t open the drawer fully. I was able to open it enough to where I didn’t reposition it but yours looks a lot closer. I’m sure you already know this but thought I’d let you know to be sure the casing isn’t too thick.

    Mr. Ron, please don’t take this the wrong way. Considering I built all of your benches I’ve even got art that I pull behind my truck, and one of these days I hope you get smart on the road as well. That being said… I am actually a palled that you prefer a frameless cabinet over a framed cabinet for the life of me I can’t understand why that would be? I’ve always joked that frameless cabinets or euro boxes belong in Europe or in the office. Now I am only 37 but I guess that makes me old school. IDK

      CTG offer low end up to some very nice high end. I think you can see from this video, this series was very nice other than the hardware.

    • @number6photo
      @number6photo 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheSmartWoodshop but if the hardware is sketchy, and the soft-close drawer glides and door hinges begin to fail within a year or two of installation (as noted by other commenters), then it doesn't seem like a very good deal despite using all plywood and solid woods. I can't stand the sound of cabinets banging when closing, or hanging open because the self-closing mechanism isn't working. Where can you find RTA cabinets with plywood/solid woods, AND decent hardware?

    • @TheSmartWoodshop
      @TheSmartWoodshop  10 месяцев назад +2

      I have no complaints about the hardware at this point. About two years in and still going strong. We only have the CTG in our main bath, which we share and is the only bath we use, so it gets plenty of use. Now that the wait times for materials are back to normal, we will go back to traditional suppliers and purchase pre-assembled boxes.@@number6photo

    • @number6photo
      @number6photo 10 месяцев назад

      @@TheSmartWoodshop thanks for the feedback. 👍🏻 I’m not opposed to pre-assembled cabinets. Are there particular brands you like, or would stay away from? I was considering Thomasville from Home Depot (30% off right now, but still around $15k for our kitchen), all plywood construction with solid wood doors. We have some plywood/solid wood Thomasville cabinets from
      Home Depot in our master bath that are 10+ years old and they have held up really well, including all the hinges and drawer slides. But the current reviews on HD’s website make it sound like Thomasville isn’t what it used to be.
