    Update: I used to jut my jaw forward especially on E. Not anymore! I've finally loosened my jaw tension. I used to wonder why great singer's jaws would "wobble" when they sang. Since I started your training, mine spontaneously started doing that "wobble" which perfects the diction and assists the vibrato. Looks good too!

    • @kralvltavin9173

      Really wanna thank you for your existence. I reviewed some recordings of myself a few weeks ago and (being overly critical) I have noticed the areas of my voice which have improved since. The recordings were good, but I've gotten better.

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  2 года назад +14

      Be careful of that “wobble”. The jaw should not noticeably shake or wobble. That is jaw tension. I have another video on the jaw coming out on Jan 1.

      @@Victoria-Victorious😳 so... it's NOT professional? There is some tension there. But it's like a controlled resistance to shape the tone. Albeit I do see how it can lock up the jaw if one isn't careful to release it a after the note.
      If I'm understanding your point, then this is not the right technique to accomplish this? I see many singer's do this so I'm confused.

      I noticed how much easier it is to sing this way by accidentally doing it so I looked up if it was correct. This is amazing I cant believe it took me years to know this ingredient of singing. Thankyou!

    I have been binge watching you lately, and working your wisdom and many of your exercises into my everyday routine. I have loved to sing all my life, and have been working more deliberately to improve my singing for the last 3 years or so. I used to see a voice coach, and the first thing she helped me with was my tight, pushed-forward jaw.
    I have struggled with my tone and vibrato, just never satisfied with “my sound.”
    Watching this video, I literally cried at 1:09 when you said that correctness position is “down and back, slightly underslung...”
    I have been drawing my jaw straight down all this time. Your clear and concise description of correct posture made me realize that I have been under-correcting my problem all this time!
    Since I first watched this video two days ago, my tension, my weak vibrato, and some vowel problems I’ve been working on, have ALL BUT DISAPPEARED.
    I feel like I have finally reached level ground and can now begin to learn and improve, and I can’t thank you enough!

    Does this advice alter itself in any way for those with misaligned jaws (e.g. overbite/malocclusion)? Perhaps you've had students with these issues who needed to move their jaw more forward/backward. It'd be interesting to hear if that has ever caused problems with people you've worked with.
