This was SUCH a treat to watch to be able to hear you all talk (so in depth - I learned a lot!) about one of my favorite bands that I’ve been listening to since when I was in high school. Siamese Dream was my definitive high school album but when I got to college I got really into Mellon Collie. Adore was a grower and Machina / The Machines of God and Oceania were pleasant surprises. Gish was also a favorite in high school. Hard to rank all of them but top 5 would have to be 1) Siamese Dream, 2) Mellon Collie, 3) Adore, 4) Gish, 5) Machina / The Machines of God (if I’m not counting Pisces Iscariot). Cheers to all and looking forward to more rankings / videos!

I’m so glad to see Adore so high on all your lists! I’ve been preaching that one as the best forever and I always get shut down and told I’m crazy!
    Great episode!

We Adore truthers have always been out there. Not just the greatest pumpkins albums, but one of the greatest albums ever, period. So much I didn't touch on: the sound of the keyboard in "Crestfallen" and its vocal melody and "Who am I?" refrain, the perfection of "Perfect," the intensity and uniqueness of "Pug" and "Tear" and how they contrast with the softer songs, the thrill of that "We must never be apart" chorus in "Ava Adore," the endless solace and sadness in "Behold! The Nightmare"... glad everyone spoke to different songs.

This ranking is amazing Bret i definitely missed out on the Pumpkins later releases i definitely need to check I stopped at Machina 2. Bet I knew you was going to pick Gish at the top spot i really love everyone take and favorite songs of each album . Thank you Bret, Frank , Greg and Kevin for you honest take on the Smashing Pumpkins body of work.🥂. The one highlight of off mine was meeting Billy Corgan at Tower in the late 90’s and I talk to him about Adore and his influences on guitar.

Lovell! Thanks for hanging in there for the 3 hour video. I remember you talking about chatting with Billy at Tower - was that the same store that they did the in-store performance for Siamese Dream back when it came out? If you come across a copy, definitely pick up Oceania - I think you'll really enjoy that one. Thanks again.

Merci! I'm flattered. Usually my younger half-brother gets the Gosling comparisons while I get Ben Stiller. That's okay. I am Kenough.
