I can definitely see Prodrive winning the Dakar rally with this rally car they made. Nice how they got Dacia on board to sponsor them as well. Things must be going well over at Renault if they're putting the Dacia name on a car they didn't build.
@@laupstad, well Dacia is the brand they are marketing as outdoorish, so it would only make sense to name this a Dacia, plus, they will make a road car with either this name, or something similar, plus with some design elements from this prototype.
@@sebastianstoica578 Design elements, sure. I'm just not impressed by manufacturers putting their name on a car they had no part in developing and has nothing to do with their road cars past, present or future apart from design elements. Which I realize means most race cars. This is just one of many. It can win a million races and it still says nothing about Dacia. It does use a heavily modified Nissan engine though which is related to Renault through the stock market so that gives this thing sort of a tenuous relation to Dacia I suppose.
Thing looks pretty sick. I especially like the front wheel wells/guards, the way they've put passive slits into the back to improve airflow is so smart.
Nice to see that Renault Group decided to promote Dacia at Dakar 2025, this car is just awesome and driver lineup amazing. Let's go Dacia for the win in 2025😊😊❤❤❤
Renault used the Dacia Duster for Dakar before, so this is a huge step up from its predecessor. The only thing that makes this rally car even wilder is if it's powered by a Nissan GT-R R35 engine.
Why is it so heavy though? That's definitely heavier than a normal entry, where's all that weight coming from? I mean obviously the engine, tires, extra tires and all that but it still seems a bit too heavy. It must be the chassis and tube frame
They should put in production...1000pieces and than take part of the dakar... So maybe some lucky guy can have this car....like was in the past....with the specialnomologation cars
the DC Sandrider could have done with a lightweight aluminium alloy & carbon fibre composite space frame chassis & body combo . . . instead of the traditional tubular steel chassis frame . . . that would have put the vehicle's gross weight well under 1.8 tons . . . Dacia could do with a limited production run of the DC Sandrider . . . it'd feature a reinforced aluminium alloy carbon fibre composite space frame chassis & body . . . a 2.4 Biturbo I6 mated to a 8-speed torque converter auto transmission & a beefed up suspension . . . heavy duty coil springs & shocks, stiffer anti-roll bars & a proper custom made 3.8 in. suspension lift . . . a shift-on-fly 4WD system . . . all these enhancements has to be incorporated into the Sandrider without compromising the 362 mm of suspension travel . . . 18.0 in. alloys shod with 325/70 R18 M/T radial tyres . . . retail at €183,000 - €236,000 (approx) a piece . . .
Can you see Dacia winning the Dakar rally with the Sandrider?

It was "unofficial" car with V8 engine and south Africa chassie, this car is official Dacia
@@toyotabj71 yep! it is a manufacturer entry.
Good news: Dacia Sandrider win in Morocco rally...
Even better news: They won Morocco rally...
Looks so much fun!
probably shares a lot of prodrive hunter as mentioned, but it really looks good.

Not really, all the T1+ cars are around 2000kg.
This is my cup of tea. Would like one...
The headlight design bothers me so much... Whats the reason for one headlight?
weight reduction :)))
It gets people talking about it. Same as some BMW motorcycles.
Loeb will win next Dakar / 2025 ... With Dacia Sandrider ... 👍💪🙏🥂🚜🏆🥇✌☯🔆🏜♾

ford vs toyota vs DACIA

It’s that weight because of the regulations
Al-Attiyah will win Dakar with Dacia. Or Loeb. Anyway, Dacia will win. Already won Morroco...
But this Dakar s horror
