I haven't seen a retro come this close to OG specs! A detailed comparison of the original Air Jordan 1 Chicago 1985 VS custom hand crafted specifications.
I bought 2 pairs before Vibe was even known and they are worth every penny. His work is high quality and consistent. Definitely going to grab another color.
Amazing in-depth review. Brings some peace of mind to a fellow Viberemakelab owner. I got myself the Chicago’s as well and exactly my thoughts initially about the sizing. Broke my head thinking they run pretty big in comparison to my other J1’s, which makes the toebox feel and fit higher than normal. I had to message VRL about it and he confirmed it’s the standard size which I did not buy. Don’t get me wrong, shoe looks absolutely incredible and feels top notch but just not happy with the sizing. I had to switch to thicker insoles for the shoe to fit well. All in all I’m a happy camper with the overall build and quality of the shoe, just wish the sizing was as the OG 85’s. Great review once again, cheers.
Cool man, yeah bigger insole will definitely help with comfort too. That's what I do. Retro 85 does feel smaller to these a bit more roomy but shape is waaay better. Love the BY specs. Retro 85 has been improving quite a bit though
I agree that this is more of a custom build or bespoke product just like you said. I cant agree with factorys trying to replicate the latest release or recent stuff to try to capitalise on and then that stuff sneaks across the water straight onto the aftermarket.
Always interested to hear any Og’s take on the whole “true to OG” custom ‘85. Is it more or less acceptable b/c a factory in china is making them vs someone like that kid Max Hanke who pumps these out with the same, or maybe better quality by himself? It gets very trivial but I do appreciate the level of attention applied to recreating such a classic.
Yeah man, I love Maxes work as well. I don't have a pair from him but they do look as good if not better. I wanted to get a pair from him but you have to come up with sole donor which I don't want to destroy a ds pair of my retro 85s
Definitely close enough especially for the price. Handmade by 1 artist like max and mercury are way more accurate and more “artisanal” with superior leather shape and accuracy but these are f ing dope.
Nah , definitely not way more accurate ... But it's understandable these comments when a new fish comes in and does the same quality that's obvious to the eye for half the price and not having to wait 6 months for it to be made , alarm bells start ringing because people feel threatened. Within the Bespoke community ... 699.00$ OR 1300.00$ and wait 6+ months I've seen both personally now . Mercury makes good shoes aswell, but more accurate nah maybe more followers on Instagram ...
Can't wait to see the other pair you ordered. I'm getting another pair too I just can't decide what to get I want the Chicago but I already own the lost and found but if I do get the Chicago I'll sell me l&f
@OG or bust nice you got some sample pairs. I've watched these 2 videos of yours so many times I watched another guy who reviewed vibes shoes after a month of wearing and his toe box was really loose and wavy have you seen any evidence this might be an issue or maybe he was just rough with his pair he said he was hard on his shoes and I believe he says he even balled 🏀 in his lol
Hello hello would it be asking too much for you to do a follow-up video showing the status of your Vibe remake lab Chicago Jordan Ones how they've held up how they've been I think that video would be amazing and the sizing if you still recommend going down half a size please consider it
I've worn them a few times but not heavily. They are a bit roomy for 10.5 but I also wore an 11 by them. Really depends on your feet. For example I was only able to get 10.5 in Mac attack grey og colorway and they're definitely more snug. Maybe with more wear I'd post a video etg

@@ogorbust1697 am I crazy that I want to sell off a bunch of shoes from my collection and get like 2-3 more of these, please tell me that wouldn't be a bad move??? Do you see these holding up over time, aka standing the test of time???
OG I got a head and purchased two pairs and I'm thinking about getting a third. These are really crazy! The price point at 599 at first it sounds crazy but when you think about what you're getting you're basically getting a 1985 dead stock made in 2023 for 600 bucks it's literally the best deal out there that's the way I look at it! Nike is never going to produce anything to this quality in this dedication to the craft without charging $2,000 and I highly doubt it's going to be this good I might be wrong I might be right but for $600 I'd rather go the shore route and not have to wait for Nike to drip releases of shoes that everyone wants and they won't give to anybody
"They're not really tied that tight..." dude, those things are being strangled. Why are the laces so damn tight? It's squeezing the shit out of them. Is there a reason for it?
Great video! was waiting for this :) Thanks! Sizing: I'm usually a size 11 US in Jordan 1 Og High retros... you say these run "bigger" but VRL tell me they are TTS. I don't know If I should order my usual size 11 or a 10.5 (I told this same thing to VRL but he just answered "11US". Can you help on this? I do like a snug 1:1 but comfy fit and I guess these will also break in the more you wear them ... thanks in advance!
@@michaelagus7596 everyone's feet are different I feel like retro 85 11 is really nice fit and 10.5 vibe is perfect for me. They feel about the same amount of space but to be safe I hear some going tts
@@ogorbust1697 I just found it odd that they match up based off what you're saying.
