  • This video explains the work required to fit the Oxford heated grips to a Husqvarna 701 and a GasGas 700. The fitting of aftermarket grips to the 701 is not as straightforward as some other bikes, but it is perfectly possible and not that much eatra work.

Thanks for the vid dedicated to my question :) Now I have to deal with either somehow removing the already glued grips to the tube, and removing the grip stop or living without that extra space you get when removing that "hand grip stop"
Just a heads up and a tip for anyone else doing this, it may be much simpler but expensive route to buy Husqvarna 701 - 2019 throttle tube, part number: 27002010000
This is the black throttle tube without "moulded" grip so you just cut it and off it goes, no sanding or anything needed to just slip oxfords on it. Cost is 34 EUR

What about Oxford over grips? The "Hot Hands" , put them on in the months you need them, take them off when you don't. Fit them to a switched live and off you go. Put them on, take them off as you need.

Very useful video. Thank you for sharing. Do you have another video showing the route you ran the wires to the battery?

Thanks for watching. I don't I'm afraid. I ran a + and - from the battery to the headlight housing and then made the connections to the grips and controller behind the headlight. There is quite a lot of space there and of course it is protected from the weather. You could avoid running wires from the battery by using the live wires already in the wiring loom behind the headlight.
