It's really refreshing to see restorations done to this level. How you replace the entire underside is the only way to go. Thanks for sharing your great talent. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Love the attention to detail. Would really like to see a video on how you modified the front turn signal mounts. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
You should do a short video of your mini shells anyway, then you can email it to prospective customers when they call to make enquiries about prices etc. (You would get more business that way) HNY
@@philtucker1224 tHanks...they are in the background often, but seldom the focus of the videos. I set up shelving for all the Mini parts I have. It will still be some weeks but that project will be shown on video. There are tons of old rusty 1960s Mini pieces
Absolutely great! Paul, you’re like a metal surgeon, cutting out what’s bad and stitching it all back together by various means. Great vicarious learning just by watching and listening. I’m looking forward to the next……👍🏻😎👍🏻👍🏻
Absolute genius...... The attention to detail is amazing..... Stumbled on this channel by accident but after watching one episode im hooked..... The way you talk through what you have done and why is supurb..... Keep up the channel 💪💪
You should look into some of the 3m two pack glues for around the door skins, it's better than Epoxy followed by wax for rust prevention, would also stifen up the door when hard. You do really nice work, people not in the trade won't appreciate the time you'll have out into it.
Hi, absolutely great work you’re such a high standard very skilled man just a quick question what is a metal block you put an alarm for quarter panel when Welding
Lovely jubbly !! Paul , do you plug weld the rear flanges to the scuttle ? When l had gas bottles l used to braze them but l lent them to my best mate and got them back 30 years later , empty with rotten hoses !!!! Cheers !
Really enjoy your videos having just found them. Quick question, how do you protective treat two mating surfaces that have been welded together so they don’t rust? Thanks
Just started watching your channel, very interesting, thank you. Do you film the whole restoration or just the main fabrication? I've watched the van and the Cooper series, will there be more on these? Thanks.
What’s the real cost to the value of that.car in man hours alone plus all the mechanical work and paint work. Most if not all these so called rebuilds that make these cars non original cost way more than the cars worth sad fact but very true
We hope you enjoy the video!

My 1963 mini 850 was only 9 years old when I purchased it so it still had a reasonably solid floor thank goodness.
@@philtucker1224 nice. Occasionally a gem like that comes up but most of them need a lot of work. Look after it👍
@ That would be great but I sold it in 1973 for my Mk1 Escort

1 day Paul I would like to get a quarter as good as you with fabrication and welding!! Loving the work dude
So great to see a real expert sheet metal worker making a difficult job look easy. The end result is superb. I just love watching your work.
Cracking job Paul! So good to see these car bodies restored properly. Cant wait to see what else you've got coming up!
The next one is building a brand new 1965 shell from mostly "new old stock" panels. It'll be fun
@@PWCV-YT Awesome! Can't wait
Beautiful work Paul, true craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing.
Wow,...this is simply amazing to me.
I should film my Mini shells and see what you think....
These videos of yours are great!

Brilliant work Paul.. I've owned a few Mk l's and know the cars quite well. You really have an eye for detail and originality.

Marvelous. Love from South Africa.

You are right ! (Refurbished mini shells done well) are usually MUCH better than the originals! 😁
Great job.
Nice work.. looking good
Lovely, some one understands what restore means. Not a rattle can in sight!

*put into it
To be honest, I don't like sealer in the skins but that just my opinion
I learned a lot on my first mk1 restoration, and a lot more on my second. But I wish I'd seen your work before. 3rd time lucky! Quality work there.
I still learn more with every one that I do

Thanks for the re cap 👍🏻
Passengers door frame looked like RAB C Nesbits famous vest.
Holier than Edam
You’re a wizard 🧙
🤣
Wow amazing job👊🏻
Great work. You see so many attempts on similar panels and poor results.
Better then factory by far.
Great content and keep on posting.
There's plenty to come
CHEERS from AUSTRALIA
They were never that good from the factory! 😂👏🏾👏🏻👏🏾👏🏻👏🏽👏🏻
Excellent job!

I do plug them
That bootlid lad.. 🎉 Another quality job, what’s your waiting list like for work?
list is into next year at the moment. the diary will probably reopen in January for 2025 bookings

Key it up and spray on U-Pol weld through primer

I only do the metalwork but when I catch up with the cars once finished off by the owners I will do a video on each of them
At 17:19 why do you hold that metal(?) block against the panel ?
It soaks the heat away from the panel controlling distortion
I rember in early 70s British Leyland selling Mk 1 & 2 new Mini shells for £60!
Wow, that's only one hour labour theses days
That was about one months salary!
Paul, can't believe you didn't iron the flag (-:
😀 I could hit it with a hammer, I don't know how to iron
Must be tough to hand that over to a painter unless it's someone you know and trust to carry the job forward,
It's tough to hand it back to the owner after I've spent a month treating it as my own, they then arrange a painter
Fancy do mine next? 😉 got 67 vtec mini van.
I'm afraid I'm fully booked for the year. Keep an eye on my facebook and Insta pages to see when my diary opens for next years bookings
@PWCV-YT aw okay I'll keep an eye out 😊
Is that a METZ bead roller?
It is. I wish they wouldn't call it bead roller though, It's real name is Tinman's Jenny

Value has little to do with it, it's a hobby, it's about having fun
