It says a lot how Futaba's Palace theme communicates emotion just through the music. Makes it way worse when you realize the song is called "The Days When My Mother was There"
Futabas palace will always be my favourite and the one that hits closest to home for me; I lost my own mother when I was 13 to alcoholism, and I always blamed myself for not being a better son, for not seeing the signs, for being a bother to her, and for not helping her. After I lost her I fell into the care of my older brother who became a father figure to me (my dad wasn't in my life much at the time) but history has repeated itself, he too was an alcoholic, he suffered just as much as I had losing our mother, and with his own share of adult problems he drank himself to an early death last week. I fell back into the pattern of blaming myself again even though I'm an adult now, blaming myself for not being a better brother, for not realizing just how badly he was suffering, for not being able to shoulder enough of his burdens... But Futabas palace reminds me that they loved me, and I love them, we all did the best we could for each other, and while tragedy still struck us, I'll live on with their love in my heart, and all I can hope for is that that is enough to honour their memories.

LOL you aren't the first woman I've seen become obsessed with Akechi XD love this. Also Akechi's confidant was MAJORLY upgraded in Royale. Originally he just kinda was there.. his status got upgraded automatically and you didn't do much with Akechi. In this one, his relationship with Joker and the group seems much more organic and better paced. Also Futaba best girl (although not best girlfriend..just best girl) But love Kasumi... she's my #1 girlfriend in Royale

Futaba's Palace is probably one of the most beautifully done dungeon I've ever seen in an RPG. How slowly tells you the story of a child that for years thought she was at fault of her mom dying, because some bastards told her lies, causing her traumas, depression, suicidal wishes... Her Shadow trying to help her get through it, to realize the truth, is similar to how Shadows work in Persona 4, but I genuinaly loved how they made it here, because is completely the opposite. It's not the dark side of her heart, is the one that wants to live, be normal and get answers. And then you have the music. Persona 5's music is amazing, that's for sure, but there's one thing it does magnificently and is induce many feelings. In Futaba's case, her Palace's music is sad from the first accord, that's for sure, but you can't help and feels like something is missing, like is a bit "flat" so to say. And then you realize why. It doesn't have lyrics, is a repetitive theme, it has a constant guitar solo... because it represents the pure loneliness Futaba feels, the guitar itself almost feels like is crying. The worst part is when you learn the theme's name is "The days when my mother was there". P5's characters are some of the most relatable in the entire of SMT, but I think Futaba hits specially harder for anyone. By the way, here's a piece of trivia. Did you know Futaba's two favorite dishes are Sojiro's curry and instant noodles? Think for a moment why.
1:07:49 to 1:08:12 welp. there goes my heart ;_; 3rd semester got hands, but futaba got gamer fingers and the healthiest mindset on grief I've ever seen

The 'why don't you say something' bit in Futaba's hallucinations sounds a bit like Sojiro to me. I don't think it's intended to be... but it's the kind of thing I can see him saying early on, when he's trying to understand her but frustrated by how much she's isolating herself from help.
I beat Persona 5, but in Royal I've just finished Madarame's palace, not even gotten his confession yet, so a lot of what I saw here was new. So yeah, I'm going to get back into P5R now, so I'm not spoiled when the next part comes out.
28:34 ... I mean, I do, sometimes. Granted, I sometimes have the vocabulary of a 50-year-old, Southern, white woman; you know, the kind trying to sound all posh. "I do declare, she was in such a malaise." And I don't use it often. But it is a regular enough part of my vocabulary that this one actually wasn't hard for me.
9:55 It's raining and Yoshizawa's father is asking if she needs a ride... Huh. 46:53 I was trying to solve this question on my own, and I think the way the question was written is a massive disservice. This is based on a question you get in the original Persona 5 (P5R has new classroom questions and answers), but the way its written is all wrong. Instead of saying that "Angle A and D are 88 degrees," it should really say "the SUM of A and D are 88 degrees." I was over here scratching my head trying to figure it out until I realized that the question was just written poorly. (To explain, the sum of all exterior angles on a star are equal to the sum of the interior angles, 180 degrees. It's been a while since I took geometry, but I believe its because all the angles total are equal to 360, as is the case with all 5-point stars. Someone who's vastly smarter than me, feel free to correct me.)
Maruki: I just found out how scary cats can be, despite their cuteness. Tell me about it. I have had my cat for roughly six months now. He hasn't gotten used to being picked up yet, and so when I picked him up recently so he'd stop interfering with me doing the dishes, he put a DEEP 2 1/2 inch scratch on my nose. Despite a band-aid large enough to completely cover it and neosporin, it's still quite scabbed over five days later, so it's almost certainly going to leave a big scar.

"I do declare, she was in such a malaise." And I don't use it often. But it is a regular enough part of my vocabulary that this one actually wasn't hard for me.
I was really busting out laughing 😂 And the story
I do think Price is one of the more underrated songs in the game, I actually have it in my Spotify playlist 👀

I was trying to solve this question on my own, and I think the way the question was written is a massive disservice.
Despite a band-aid large enough to completely cover it and neosporin, it's still quite scabbed over five days later, so it's almost certainly going to leave a big scar.
i feel off about how she got spoiled by pancakes spam...
