Akechi's story is even more heartbreaking in all honesty, when you think about how awful orphans/foster kids are seen in Japan compared to other places ;-;
Fun fact about Akechi's code name I never see anyone else notice, but the English word "Crow" is pronounced like "Kuro," which is the Japanese word for "black." They're telling you right away he's the guy in the black mask lol.
1:45:53 A fun fact, even though in the final game Akechi doesn't have a Palace (because he's already a Persona-user), in the original game there WAS unused text for Shadow dialogue referring to "Lord Akechi", implying he was planned to have one but it got cut before any development really was done on it.
Most peoples reaction when Ryuji smiles at 1:48:19: Aha, the Phantom Thieves were in on it the whole time! My reaction: OMG Ryuji was the villain all along!
How could Ryuji be a villain? He is the one true hero of the game. Joker is just a weird, boring, silent introvert no one would even talk to in real life.
Yep! There was an old tradition where giving someone a handkerchief was a sign that there was interest in a relationship, and Leigh might have been mixing that up with the throwing glove tradition

In Akechi’s rank seven (1:16:16), he talks about balls striking unrelated objects. Akechi is revealed later on to have had a goal in mind, and he did so many terrible things to achieve that goal. The Phantom Thieves were in the way of Akechi getting what he wanted, so he had to do something about it. Balls striking unrelated objects. I believe that these lines were Akechi’s way of apologizing to Joker for what was about to happen. Notice how he also has his sad portrait when he’s talking about this. It’s so effing sad.
I got vanilla version a day early (bless you GameStop employee) and did not spoil myself. The interrogation room bit was LEGIT nerve wracking. I had NO idea what was the correct thing to do. I'm glad my "snitches get stitches" attitude was the right one XD

"Akechi has daddy issues?" Ryuji: abusive dad who's gone. Ann: family alive but always away (probably most well adjusted). Yusuke: actual dad unknown; adoptive dad harmful. Makoto: dad's dead. Futaba: had no dad originally, then abusive dad, then good dad but only after the damage was done. Akechi: dad abandoned his mom. Haru: controlling and dismissive dad. This is "Daddy Issues: The Squad", now available on Playstation and PC.

i think when it comes to rank 8, people who take akechi’s rank 8 “i hate you” speech at face value and fail to put 2 and 2 together and realize that growing up without any real friends, no loving family members, no support system, means that when someone finally shows you genuine concern and affection after YEARS of being deprived of both of course your brain is going to short circuit and try to spin it under terms that you CAN understand, feelings that you are familiar with, such as resentment and hate, (or neutral feelings that are easier to grasp such as respect and admiration) when in reality it’s not hate at all, but it’s the only name you have in order to label the complex unfamiliar feelings youre going through.
