I found Dr. Liz O'Riordan's channel, a cancer survivor herself, quite helpful after my diagnosis of Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC), ER Positive March 2023. My wife has stage 4 breast cancer, she is taking Kisqali/Femara and has been on it for 4 1/2 years. So far so good, it’s amazing the strides they have made in treating certain types of cancer, including breast cancer. 💕
Hi! I just started following you recently. I also have breast cancer and have a RUclips channel where I discuss a lot of these same things. I have also been doing keto for about a year and half and have stage 3c had dmx, lymph node dissection, chemo, radiation and am currently doing the monthly injection with letrozole. It’s so much to go through and I just wanted you to know that you aren’t alone in this battle! Im glad I found your channel because it helps me to know that there are so many of us thriving despite our diagnosis. Even though I hate to see that there are so many of us out here dealing with this. You are inspiring many others and I thank you for that. Best of luck in your endeavors. If you ever need someone to vent to I can definitely relate. ❤️❤️
Sometimes you can have the “aura” without the headaches. I used to get actual migraines with horrible pain, but no aura. My husband sometimes sees” squiggly lines” but no pain. And, my younger daughter used to see “colors in the trees” when she was a small child( the pediatrician asked if anyone in the family has migraines.) Now, as a grown up, she sometimes gets migraines. Mine went away after my ovaries were removed, yaaay! I am wondering if the itching on the tattoo was an “auto immune response” related to chemo, maybe? You sound like you’re doing a great job figuring out what is going on! Best wishes to you for complete healing, and continued great health!🥰💝
Thanks for sharing! Never had chemo but definitely started and stopped with Kisqali as well (it’s endocrine therapy). Interesting about the eyes! I’ve never had a migraine in my life. The only day I had a bad headache even (besides some hangovers) was day one of covid.
I have heavily researched removing the ovaries, and I have heard that some woman still get menopause side effects after removing the ovaries. For that reason, I have decided to keep them. In addition, Lupron side effects don’t seem to be too bad for me. In general, I noticed that my side effects from the hormone therapy in general have significantly decreased after the first 3-4 months. I’ve been on hormone therapy since October 2022 now and hardly have any side effects anymore. I still get minor hot flashes but they aren’t too bad anymore. As for the glucose thing, I noticed that I did have an increase in glucose recently. I didn’t see that until after a year of treatment so that’s interesting. I had 103 after fasting for 12 hours so I was a bit shocked to see that.
I would def take out the ovaries , I was on Lupron 18 months which is a very strong drug to be able to shut them down , had many side effects and was also told by my oncologist it’s not guaranteed to work 100% the whole month it can go up and down. Felt so much better once stopped those shots , had them out very easy procedure and now they know for sure nil oestrogen . Of course you’ll Just still have the small amount converted from the adrenals which is stopped by taking the anastrozole . With so many drugs to take and side effects it was felt great to eliminate one ! Good luck with your decision ❤
@@NatashaFitnessYogaPilates I didn’t do the surgery. My tumour was 7.5-c/m staged 3b - i had 6 months of chemo - mastectomy - and 5-wks radiation. I could have had my ovaries removed but I didn’t. Thank you so much for all your updates! In one of your videos you mentioned you had a painful biopsy when first diagnosed. Someone commented that a rough biopsy can break open the tumor and spread cancerous cells. When I had my biopsy, I developed a 5cm hematoma because the nurse didn’t put enough pressure on my breast afterwards. I am terrified this spread the cancer. I am 3 months post bilateral mastectomy for stage 1 ER+PR+HER2. My oncologist said not to worry, but how do they really know? Just curious if you asked your oncologist.
Yes, I honestly think it was the rupturing of the tumor from the biopsy and then waiting a month and half for the lumpectomy surgery. There is no way for me to know like I most likely won’t know why I got it in the first place but I think it’s a good possibility. 😔good luck with everything!
It’s good to hear your child is helping you by masking when they’re contagious and you stay aware of situations when you need to do the same. As a scientist and someone who served on a SARS-1 committee (yes, the first SARS in 2002), we know that masks makes a difference for many airborne diseases.

You look absolutely stunning and sound so on top of everything. Well done❗️ I had recurrent breast cancer in May 2023. The biology of the tumor was Oestrogen Positive. Following Surgery & Radiotherapy, I commenced 600mg Kisqali, Anastrozole and Zolodex injections. The goal was to suppress oestrogen at every level. At the time of my diagnosis I was following a Keto diet and incorporated MCT oil into it. I was encouraged to discontinue the Keto diet due to fat consumption as fat was seen as another source of oestrogen production in the body. Unfortunately for me my tolerance on Kisqali was terribly poor, I suffered severe photosensitivity, double and blurred vision, joint and muscle ache, severe brain fog with short term memory challenges, peripheral neuropathy, hair loss and skin discolouration. My Oncologist eventually stopped my treatment following a severe Anaphylactic reaction to treatment which led to respiratory distress. Other patients who I befriend tolerated the above regimen very effectively. I send you every good wish for the journey ahead beautiful lady 🤗
Thank you so much. Sorry you had such a hard time. Hope you are doing well now. A lot of doctors do not understand the ketogenic diet. I’ve lost 7 pounds so it’s not like the healthy fats are making people “fat”.
So happy you are feeling good and may I say you look so good too! Your diet must really suit you it would be nice to know more about it. I am trying to exercise with you but I find it difficult as I get very fatigued and tired. As for having your ovaries removed I think if you don't need them you should do it. I had mine removed when I was 36 years old and although I found it difficult to deal with for quite some time afterwards I look back now and feel it saved my life.( I lost my Mum to breast cancer and my sister to ovarian cancer ) Having too much oestrogen can increase your risk of blood clots and stroke and as I had a stoke in my 20s extinguishing my oestrogen levels was the best option for me. Please keep up with your updates I find it very encouraging and interesting. Sending you much love & light
How are you doing on Anastrazole or is it difficult to know since you’re on the 3 different medications? I’ve been on Anastrazole 2 years and have seen my cholesterol rise. Wondering what effect a keto diet with increased fats would have on cholesterol while on Anastrazole. Thanks for your updates - great news on your eyes!
I tolerated tamoxifen well so I don’t think I’m having any issues with anastrozole. It’s still early so I can’t really know. The weird thing about being in ketosis is that fats become really good for you. And especially healthy fats: nuts, seeds, avocado, eggs, butter and good quality meats if you eat that. I’m not a scientist but I think the problem with fats is when they are combined with the carbohydrates (sugar). Thats what makes it a bad combination. When you look at people eating this way, it has positive effects on their health stats.
I’m always sharing my meals in my Instagram stories if your want to head over there @natashaswinter and I’ll try to make a video with examples of meals I’m doing.
@@Coach_Joseonce again, vegetarians eat eggs 😂 it’s also not just a low carb diet if I’m testing and in ketosis. It’s a keto diet. Just “low” carb won’t get you to make ketones and burn them for fuel instead of glucose.
