I'll probably repeat this comment in multiple videos, but I really appreciate your channel. After my mechanic refused to fix my F-150 because it would cost me too much, he said, "Dude, go get a new truck." It's too much truck for me anyway. I said, "I've been noticing the Tacoma lately." He put his hand on his chest and thanked me. "I love Tacos!" When I asked to look at Tacomas at a dealer, the just looked at me like I was the son he wish he had, shook his head and said, "Good for you, man." I picked it out in 5 minutes, my olive 2014 Taco. Low milage, which I'm definitely adding on (work truck), good cost, great shape. I've never taken care of a vehicle so well and I'm already adding to it. I even get comments. Just put on the grill-guard, toolbox looks great, and we have plans on how to wire it for a generator. Your channel is my go-to for products and maintenance. Again, thank you.
Original owner of a 2007 Tacoma TRD Off Road that I keep well maintained. However the engine compartment is lacking the TLC that you gave to yours Chloe. So your video has inspired me to get busy and get it cleaned up, lol. Thanks for another great DIY...👍
Another great video... a bit of advice from a retired car tech. Step # last = take it out and drive it immediately after wiping it down and bring it up to temp. Come home and open the hood so any residual water can evaporate off the warm/hot motor....
Chloe i really thought it would be difficult to clean the engine that I would be too scared to do so. Watching you do it made me see it isn’t that difficult. Thank you
I pretty much use the same process as you 🙂. I usually just cover the battery and alternator with plastic bags. The exposed wirings, I use saran wrap. For superclean, I use an IK Foam Pro 2 sprayer diluted 5:1 or even 10:1 spray it on the engine and agitate. Rinse, leaf blower, wipe dry then dress the plastic trims with CG VRP and Mothers Back-2-Black 👍🏼
DOPE Chloe! At lot of people do not understand how taking care of under the hood cleaning helps maintain the life of vehicles and you use hood products. You have great content and can’t wait to see what you have next for your mods and maintenance 🤙🏾 keep it up
First vehicle i ever owned brand new, was a 2003 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad in black. Perhaps the most gorgeous truck during that time, along with the most trustworthy. I want to buy one if I come a cross one. I now own a 2021 Toyota tundra crewmax. I am a Toyota lover all the way through.
Wow great job. I admire a person that likes to keep their engine bay clean. This also makes it easier to find potential leaks. Looking forward to that mod video
Excellent job!!!!....hopefully a TRD air breather....mine runs great and has even more power with a pedal commander....you really should look into that for the 3.5. It will wake that engine up big time!!! I have the 4.0.... In about 10-12 truck lengths with 6 more settings to go 82 mph!!!!! NO JOKE!!! the commercials are not fake. It really works!!!!! Take care!!!!
Very good job Chloe, some free advice which I mostly don't follow, but would be good for your videos. When working with any chemicals done some gloves for protection. I have been working hard to follow my own advice, but mostly forget. Probably should have glasses on too. Thanks for the vid
Spray 303 let it soak into the plastic, They buff to dry. Keeps all the plastic looking a deep black and stop the engine bay heat from drying out the rubber plastic, etc
Hi Chloe. Is your tomorrow's under the hood mod going to be hood struts? If not, I see you don't have any. I fitted the Sokietech, no drill hood struts last week, Amazon, $89, carbon fiber, they're great. I'm 77, I had trouble lifting the hood of my tacoma, I'm handicapped, took me 30 minutes to install. Cheers.
Mine looks like your before, I probably should do this. Actually surprised how well the Tacoma bay is sealed up considering how much dirt I drive. My Jeeps were always horrible under the hood by comparison.
Great job at cleaning. I would of still used a pressure washer, but with a low pressure tip. Question: have you ever using silicone or other products on hoses, rubber, and/or pliable plastics? I always apply to my CV boots, weatherstripping, and other materials that may tend to dry out or become brittle. Just a thought.
Quick tip: what I do with my Taco is connect an air hose to my compressor for the smaller areas that need water removed. Your truck still always looks better than mine though 😅
hard part is just cleaning the truck, especially if its black like mine because its IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP CLEAN!!! lol The water here in Az has so much calcium in the water, it basically ruins your paint! leaves white water spots that can't even be buffed off of the paint!
You’ve already mentioned in video there’s no major concerns using water hose on engine, but since then has there been any issues? Any residual effects? I was debating whether or not to do the same on my 2014 Tundra...
No need to vacuum it. Just spray with water and the spray can and agitate with brush and spray again. You dont need to remove the battery either or disconnect it.
⚠️ Caution never remove batter if your smog check is needed for registration. Wait tell after smog check, then you can enjoy cleaning afterwards. Once you remove that batters it zeros the cars computer causes a smog check fail 🤣😂
Be careful with Silicone Spray around the air intake & O2 sensors in the Exhaust ! Yes Silicone Kills O2 Sensors , I Use 303 Protectant, it's One of the Best But it does use Silicone

Tacoma is the best made truck in it’s category. Just keeping the cleans and keeping oil changed is about all you need.
303 aerospace. Definitely one of the BEST products out there today, it also protects from UV rays as well!
Great content as usual 👍🏻
@Maxima Because it's water based, Will wash off in the rain.
Is there a difference between the marine and automotive one ?

I'm a engine detail fanatic. Once clean I use "Back to black". Nothing better.
Chloe i really thought it would be difficult to clean the engine that I would be too scared to do so. Watching you do it made me see it isn’t that difficult. Thank you
Tape or zip tie the brush to the end of the vacuum. That way you brush and vacuum at the same time. Makes it easier

I just wanted to send a quick thank you, I just purchased my first Tacoma 2021 and your videos have really helped me!!! Super thankful to you

It's always so satisfying to freshly detail the engine bay! Nicely done!

I just can't bring myself to spray water in there, I have extremely bad luck with things so only a wipe down is a safer option for me.
Great video. I like to spray products like 303 directly on my microfiber to avoid overspray.
Spray 303 let it soak into the plastic, They buff to dry. Keeps all the plastic looking a deep black and stop the engine bay heat from drying out the rubber plastic, etc

I bought a battery operated leaf blower for this and to blow snow off Taco. Great job , just order the two cleaning products here. Thanks 👍
I’m guessing lift supports for hood 🤔🤷♂️
Thanks. This seems to be a lot better than risking putting a pressure washer in your engine bay. Nice going.
303 is awesome! I would of also covered the alternator too 😬 great outcome though!
Ah you used a leaf blower to help dry the engine bay. Haven't seen that before!
Yeah bro. I seen ppl use it all over the car. Makes it easier to dry.
Also, use a detail brush with 303 to get into the nooks and crannies, along with the inside folds of the air intake, etc.
Mine looks like your before, I probably should do this. Actually surprised how well the Tacoma bay is sealed up considering how much dirt I drive. My Jeeps were always horrible under the hood by comparison.

I pressure wash my engine all the time. No issues.
Yeah, me too. Like every third wash. So long as you don’t get too close it’s all good.
two of my favorite products
Super clean works great. We use it at work. I love that stuff
You should let the engine warm up, if water gets into any connectors it’ll dry faster. Does the 303 leave any kind of residue?
i thougght spraying down the engine with water is a no no? its safe?
So every time you clean your engine bay, you have to reset the time inside your truck?
Just got my own Taco Truck a few months ago and been watching your channel for some great ideas. Keep up the great content!!
The inventor of Super Clean developed the formula for the Germans to clean ovens.
You can now use that “303 Protectant” on your vinyl seat covers.
You need a brush attachment for your shop vac!
she prob scratched alot of stuff
My tacoma detailing is accomplished simply by taking it camping, dirt is all you need.
I've actually sprayed down my complete engine bay with water and have never had a issue
As usual, another great video and I am sure you did it but don't forget the underside of the hood
Awe heck Chloe! Now you added another hour for me to wash my Taco!! 😂 Awesome video!
I use SC1... its meant for motorcycle and dirt bikes. But I've been using it on my truck and cars for a long time now.
Disconnect the negative terminal and put electric tape around the connector makes it easy!!!
I usually use cover all works good also. I will try this as well
Great video. Gonna clean my engine bay like this soon. Thanks Chloe. 💯
New intake?! Polish those bolts and prevent that rust in the future! Haha
I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra, i don’t know much about cleaning the engine. Would super clean work for me?
Hello Chloe, love your vids! What model of watch are you wearing? Looks pretty durable.
Good job Chloe!!
If you had the option to add another vehicle next to your Tacoma, what would it be
Hi CK And Family GBU All I'll try this CK Love Seeing You Happy😀 stay safe
Ready for the new TRD intake tomorrow? 😀
Is it necessary to remove the battery.
Good stuff. On another note, why do many Taco vids have techno muzak? It’s a trend.
Did you do ov tune ?
Did removing battery cause any need to reset anything after reinstalling battery ?? Thanks
No, I did not need to reset anything
Niceeeeee job looks like new wow
good stuff. my 4runner is due for an engine bay cleaning as well!
Thank you. I was wondering how I can clean my cars @ HM. 👍
just when I think I've caught up on maintenance and care, I see this
Have you thought of getting an ov tune for the truck
What about under the Hood?
.....are you getting a TRD Cold Air Intake?
hard part is just cleaning the truck, especially if its black like mine because its IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP CLEAN!!! lol
The water here in Az has so much calcium in the water, it basically ruins your paint! leaves white water spots that can't even be buffed off of the paint!
You should get a filter for your hose and it will prevent the water spots
Can i use the 303 to restore my door panels and any plastic in my truck?
Yes, I believe you can use it on plastic surfaces of the vehicle
@@ChloeKuo thanks chloe👍
Not related to the video but, im thinking of replacing my cargo lights with a smoked lens. Any idea where to get it aside from amazon?
Super clean !!!
Where did you get your engine oil decal 0W20 ?
It came with my truck
@@ChloeKuo ok. Mine didn’t come with one. Thanks for responding.
What wheels and tires are you running?
Gonna try this at well! Super worried i mess up but she did it and i will copy her so god help me 😅
Smartest thing I have ever seen , remove the battery and cover the connections
does this work for the inch on mud in my engine bay?
I love cleaning my engine.
More important that making the engine shine...would be to prevent corrosion of battery terminals.
You’ve already mentioned in video there’s no major concerns using water hose on engine, but since then has there been any issues? Any residual effects? I was debating whether or not to do the same on my 2014 Tundra...
So far I haven’t seen any effect 🙂
It's safe, just don't use a pressure washer and don't try to soak an area, just keep the nozzle moving.
When was the last time you checked your cabin filter?
Usually they change it out every time you take it in to get serviced like 7000 miles or so
I hope you install a K&N air intake.
No need to vacuum it. Just spray with water and the spray can and agitate with brush and spray again. You dont need to remove the battery either or disconnect it.
Removing it not necessary but at least disconnecting it for safety
Wow! Your Tacoma is cleaned and absolutely beautiful like you’re!
Come clean my 2018 Trd off-road 4x4 if don’t mind😛
There’s a non greasy 303 in a blue bottle, the white bottle will attract a dirt..
Make sure you spray you frame with a rust preventive treatment.
What's the name of the song in the intro ?
TRD Pro Intake
super Clean and Super Video
Does the engine cover say 4.5??
⚠️ Caution never remove batter if your smog check is needed for registration. Wait tell after smog check, then you can enjoy cleaning afterwards. Once you remove that batters it zeros the cars computer causes a smog check fail 🤣😂
What if your battery dies?
She don't need to worry about the battery just keep there nothing happen
I did my tacoma 2017 but i use gunk degreaser spray
cold air intake, for next mod?
Song @ 6:52 please and thank you
Trd skid plate is my guess
Magnuson SC?
Simple green and spray on. I've hosed battery terminals for 20 years...maybe I should at least trash bag it.
TRD air intake?
The 303 works great on the fender flares too, spray it on the cloth and wipe it on.
Super Charger in the box?
When are you going to get a supercharger?
Im thinking an air box 😊... good tips btw 🥰
Outstanding young lady!
Be careful with Silicone Spray around the air intake & O2 sensors in the Exhaust ! Yes Silicone Kills O2 Sensors , I Use 303 Protectant, it's One of the Best But it does use Silicone
