I miss the good old days when upfitters and manufactures actually cared about the setups and pay attention to them.
Like the fact that the apparatus manufacture should have disabled the piercer/phaser siren tone for the apparatus since it was going to California and the tone is not legal.
Yes it’s sounds nice, but it’s not complaint and if an accident was to happen, an a video like this showed it being used when the accident happened or dash cams, the county could kiss millions away in cash to a victim. It boils down to liability.
California law specifically says it’s not legal and can’t be used, really easy for an agency to lose a case in court if the lawyer for the other side has half a brain.
Used to be sirens sold and shipped to California had it disabled from the factory. There is a reason why on software programmable lights and sirens it tells you what is California Title 13 complaint and what’s not.
People have won fleeing cases in California because it was proven that the vehicle did not have a steady burn red light on the police vehicle. Steady red is all that’s needed for a vehicle to require a vehicle to yield.
So if a felony charge can get thrown out for a little red light in a criminal case, a civil lawsuit can be won over a siren tone.
