  • CEAT Tyres have just launched a new range of high-performance tyres for Indian sport and adventure motorcycles - SportRad, for road and track use and CrossRad, for touring and off-road use. These are both steel-belted radials to ensure high-speed stability and maximum corner grip.
The SportRad series uses equidistant mid-crown grooves and is made from a silica-blended tread compound to achieve an optimal stiffness balance, enhancing cornering stability. These tyres are designed to ensure sporty performance through slick shoulders enabling high lean angles when riding around corners while the maximised slick area at the crown ensures stability at higher speeds. These are W-rated tyres, meant for speeds of up to 270kmph.
The CrossRads, on the other hand, boast an asymmetrical block tread design and transversal grooves along the circumference, which Ceat says offers improved grip in gravel, mud, and various off-road terrain. These are 60:40 on-/off-road tyres, meant for 60 per cent use on the road and 40 per cent use off it. These tyres feature interconnected shoulder blocks which provide a wider contact area for enhanced cornering grip on tarmac.
We had a chance to ride on these tyres at the CoASTT High-Performance Center in Coimbatore, and these are our first impressions.

BMW has 110/80-R19 and 150/70-R17, but Ceat is not selling those sizes on their site. Why advertise with the sizes which are not available.
