Seems a simple thing, a screen shot utility. And yet, CleanShot X keeps getting better and better. So many improvements, so regularly, and each beautifully explained with short videos like this. CleanShot X should be a case study on consumer software done right. Really impressive.

This tops SnagIT by a mile! Have used Clean Shot X for a week now, and its a dream. SnagIT has frustrated me for years as cannot create rounded corners of an image. Clean Shoot X allows me to really produce quality screenshoots in an easy to use workflow. TY!

Love it! Please fix the quick access obstructions next. No matter how small it is, it still obstructs! It would be great if we could change the opacity of the quick access.

An incredibly smart update, with a number of features I would have requested. The addition of ratio padding is genius-I was spending an inordinate amount of time using Crop to expand the image to eyeball ratio. Then I'd have to color-select the background color and create rectangles of it-which you've solved with adding the matching background to the Crop tool. Bravo!
This is among the best Mac utility I've come across as a Mac user for over 30 years. It is SO good and SO useful, I use it almost every day and it's a delight. And every update brings even more actually useful features!
Great feature update. I'd love to be able to save the settings I put in place for a screenshot as far as the background selection, padding, inset, auto-balance, shadow, corners, etc. Override them when I need to, but have it remember my last selection at least.
Always great to see new features being added! One suggestion I have is some sort of smart text removal tool (or a generalized object removal tool). At the moment I have to cover text with a box that’s the same color as the background but sometimes the background isn’t a solid color.
LOVE these updates! 🎉And great demo! One issue with this video though... There are parts of it where the background music is doubled-up and offset. It's realllllly distracting. At other points in the video the background music is fine. I think there was an issue in the editing where you accidentally had two tracks of music going. Something to check for in the future. :) Hope that helps!

great updates i really appreciate for your efforts. by the way i have one wish: i often take multiple screenshots and merge them into 1 canvas. that is why i mostly use that "add screenshot" it would be great an auto align feature so we can align those screenshots with one click. 🙂

Love the new background tool! Any chance there might be the possibility to add another image, for example, a logo, on to the screenshot (with the ability to reposition?)? If yes, I could get rid of another tool I'm using all together!
My license had expired so I wasn't getting any updates to CleanShot. Had I known that this background feature was available in the update, I would have immediately upgraded.
Please add the ability to resize to smaller sizes or resolutions. As web developers or PMs, we will use it extensively for Jira, Evernote, online platforms like StackOverflow & all StackExchange sites, or even Reddit posts. It's the only feature that still makes me use Preview.
It's will be even better if we can ocr from a capture picture while we are editing, but not trying to click ocr or click the hot key instead just like apple's oringal's. Maybe we can add a ocr button in the editing window, so that people can access faster.

I have seen a similar effect in many videos, as well as focusing on the mouse cursor by moving the camera toward the mouse location. They all look similar, so I think there is one app that manages such things.
I notice the video shows three wallpapers but on my machine it only shows one, the currently selected. Should CleanShot X auto-import downloaded wallpapers or did you manually import those? If the latter, then consider this a feature request to support selecting *.heic files (since that's their extension in System › Library › Desktop Pictures). Thanks and keep up the great work! 🙏
After a full day of experience, I wish there was a setting to remember the last setting instead of selecting it every time. For example, 16:9, rounded corner size, etc.

That was was first thought as well. I also notice the PixelSnap icon in the Menu Bar which I also use.
